It works perfect before the update (just updated MePo and plugins, nothing more!).

Now I've a lot of drops (up to 10 per second), artefacts and "skips".
It happens to h.264 (HD and 4k) as well as xvid and mpeg2.

I also wonder that h.265 10bit HDR can be played now (bofore it gives just a godec error), but also with alls these problems.

Over all this all looks for me like DXVA does not work (this all happens with the old version when I disable DXVA).
I already tryed DXVA native and copy-back.

Also it seems like there is no refresh rate changer active any more.

Attached a log with some "test" videos.
This all happens to my system "Wohnzimmer".
A Backup is available in case someone needs older logs to compare them.

    Thanks and regards,
    Felix

    Hello :)

Now I've a lot of drops (up to 10 per second), artefacts and "skips".
Yes, I can see these in the EVR log file:
    [2017-02-16 11:24:20,973] [264c4e40] [10c8] - Dropping frame, nextSampleTime -57.54 ms, last sleep 0.00 ms, last pres -120.00 ms, paint 120.03 ms, queue count 3, SOP 352, EOP 0, RawFRRatio 1, dropped 126, drawn 109
    ...
    [2017-02-16 11:24:43,816] [264c4e40] [ 7ac] - Render stats : Display-to-video FPS ratio = 2.5026(FRR 0)| Frames dropped 426, drawn 332, repeated 0 | MPAR clk adj 0
    etc.

Can you please attach a screenshot of your LAV video codec settings.

I also wonder that h.265 10bit HDR can be played now (bofore it gives just a godec error)...
Did you update the LAV codecs or GPU driver?

Also it seems like there is no refresh rate changer active any more.
    What makes you say this?

    (The log files don't agree.)

Another question: do you normally have the ViewModeSwitcher plugin enabled?

    [edit: ...and another question...
Many of these files are stored remotely (NAS or other PC - \\MEDIA-PC\).
Have you checked that the problem is not related to network access?
(Sometimes security software exceptions need to be recreated after update.)]

No, just some Windows Updates a few days ago (with expensive testing after => everything works)

LAV is still 0.68.1 (I planed to upgrade to 0.69 but I want to go step by step).

    Radeon Software is still 16.11.4.

I disabled ViewModeSwitcher plugin a few months ago, because I had some issues with hard coded subtitles.

    About refresh rate changer:
It seems like It trys to play a 50Hz movie with 23,976.

About the NAS-situation: The HTPC is MEDIA-PC.
    So all files are local.
I Just use the network path, because I replicate the DB to my other clients.

    Okay.

LAV video settings look okay. (y)

If you disabled it, why is it enabled again now?

MP just follows what MediaInfo detects. If this is wrong, it's a MediaInfo bug.
(Were you using a custom/specific version of MediaInfo before updating MP?)

About the NAS-situation: The HTPC is MEDIA-PC.

    Okay.
    ...and this hasn't changed, right?

Disabled ViewModeSwitcher again, but it didn't help.

About the frame rate: Sorry, my fault. Everything fine.

    About the network share.
The issue also happens when I pley a local file with local path.

    Here a new log file.

Nothing new stands out in the log file.

Maybe DXVA is not working as you say, I don't know. You could check the CPU usage to know more about this.

Coming back to the LAV codec settings: why have you unticked the RGB48 setting?

    About RGB48...don't know ^^
Rechecked it, but didn't change anything.

    CPU is mostly unter 10%.

first you can try installing the latest gpu driver from amd-> crimson-relive-17.2.1 and change the lav filter settings back to default (software decoding mode)
    lav_default.jpg
if it works smoothly with that settings, you can try again with lav setting on dxva2 cb...
    lav_dxva2-cb.jpg
and maybe update or erase (see mepo-error.log) some old plugins for example your 'BluRayPlayerLauncher
    good luck.

    Ok, I tryed the following:
Update Radeon Software to latest release -> No result
    Reset LAV -> No Result
Upgrade LAV to 0.69 with setting reset -> No Result
Completeley delete and Cleanup MePo with al extenstions incl. LAV and reinstall a naked MePo, incl. direct HDMI connection to the TV -> No Result
Also deinstall LAV from the MePo plugins and make a fresh 0.69 install.
    See here the logs.
Same with no DXVA, native and copy back.

Reload Backup from the state before updateing (MePo 1.15) -> Everything works fine

OK, now I think I'm getting closer!!!

Back at the fresh 1.16.0 pre install with LAV 0.69.
Just to be sure, I use refresh rate changer now with forcing, reset device and popup notification.

It all seems just happened with 23,976 movies.
I can play them up to 15min (didn't try more) without getting out of the issues.

But I can solve the problem temporarily (works till next playback):
1 of 10 tries: it's just enough to tab out off MePo by pressing the Windows key and open eny other window (explorer, etc.). Video playback gets issue free within seconds and you can jump back to MePo without any problems.
4 of 10 tries: like above but I also have to open the advanced settings of the monitor in windows (where you cen set the generall Hz (it shows 23Hz by the way) nothing more, just open it.
5 of 10 tries: Like above but I have to re select the 23Hz and apply them.

Over all I didn't see MePo did anything wrong in the graph...

The logfile shows case 2 (I hope its case 2, but I' too tired to be 100% sure...could be also case 3...sorry).

Also interesting (and shows that this is the problem):
Disabling the default refresh rate in MePo and setting the TV to 23Hz by windows:
    A 23,976 Movie starts perfect.
Then play a movie with another framerate (MePo changes the frame rate).
Thry to play the 23,976 movie again -> and we have the issue!
