Works here, but the refresh rate on the point in the movie is incredibly slow, find hitting play is quicker to see where you are.

    Hi caribou

Are you trying to edit ts or mpeg files, hopefully ts format as there have been some issues with mpeg recordings.

How are you FF\Rewinding, i use the mce remote to get to the required editing position and pause.

BTW are you using a server\client setup, with the client trying to do the editing.

    Hi Paranoïd,

Thank you to try to help me. :)

I'm trying to edit "ts" format.

to select editing position, I'm using the editor "button" under the movie. and also play/pause.
do you think the way to select edit point could be a reason of the crash ?

what I was just trying was to set the first point few minutes after the beginning and the last few minutes before the end then I execute the cut. It begins and then crash few seconds after.
I have tried on a small record (under 1 go) and it has worked....
The movie I'm trying to cut is average 4Go. (standard usual movie length)
    ?
My first PC is a atom 1.6Ghz Memory : 1GoRAM
My second is a dual core centrino 1.6Ghz Memory: 1Go
Do we need a boosted PC to be able to edit ?

I'm sorry, I'm not sure to understand your question :
    (I'm a beginner with mediaportal. already a fan ! but a beginner)
    >>>BTW are you using a server\client setup, with the client trying to do the editing. <<<
I'm using windows sql tvserver on a standalone pc. (not client/server PC)
(my test on another PC was the same : a standalone mediaportal installation with Windows SQL tvserver)

    Hi Paranoïd,

First of all, I wish you a happy new year 2009 !!

do you have an idea about my problem ?

    Hi All,

I'm a big user of Media Portal.

Can someone tell me whether this plugin is a good option to "carve up" "ts" files please. I have 3 hours of music videos which I want to separate into individual files and then play them through the "MVids" Plugin. Is this tool and "MVids" a good option for this? I'm also happy to use any external free Video Editor, but this tool sounds good.

Also, where in this forum do you go to, to download the plugin application? Also where are the detailed instructions? I cannot seem to see them on the first page?

    Cheers

    Graham

Sorry missed this post, so just did a couple of 4gb files (2hr films) and they went through fine.

Regarding specs, really do not know for sure, but in my pinnacle studio user days, anything under 2gb memory crashed, so I suppose anything is possible.

Would have to say no, every time you cut a portion out and save it creates a new file with the same name, and renames the original, would be a real pain trying to keep track of whats what.

There seems to have been a change that has broken memcoder support, it does no longer recognise ts format within MP video editor browse window, when convert mpeg to divx selected, certain this worked in RC3.

    How can VideoEditor be installed?

    Hi,

This looks like just what I need, but I can't see how to install VideoEditor.

I'm running MP 1.0 RC4 and have checked the set-up options and Configuration, but without success.

I've also looked in the plugins section, but again, can't see VideoEditor!

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
    Thanks.

    Hi Paranoid Delusion,

You seem to turn up in a number of the forums I also write in - thanks for your reply. Sooooo..... do you know of a good free video editor which I could use to carve up my ts files? Also, what's your opinion of MVids - looks good!!

    Cheers

Change MP config view to expert mode, top righthand corner. Video editor is in the plugin section.

Sorry only use Windows Movie Maker or tmpg express 4 for editing or producing DVD's.

    Hi Paranoid Delusion,

Windows Movie Maker seems to pull the video in OK, however from the channel I'm recording on, my understanding is that it is a 1080i channel. I'm therefore finding that the video seems to preview OK in WMM, but when I "Publish To", the video seems to come out focused only on part of the picture i.e. not full screen - weird?? If I record non 1080i channels, it seems to be OK.

    Any ideas??

    Regards

    Graham
