This is a great plugin indeed. However, I have lots of problems with it. When I tried cutting commercials out of a DVR-MS file, the plugin add extra time to the file after it finished cutting the commercials out of the file. For example, I recored an hour long show. I cut out hte commercials using the plugin, instead of ending up with a file that is around 43 minutes long, I would end up with a file that is and hour and 10 minutes or so. If I were to cut an MPEG2 file, it would only cut out a section but not keep everything else that I choose to keep. For example, an hour show would end up being around 5 to 7 minutes depending on how long the segment was the plugin cut. An attempt to cut a VCD MPEG file resulted in the file being 0bytes. I am very much looking forward to future releases of this plugin.

Before, I want to know do you have this problems every time or only sometimes?
Because I had never seen this behavior on the systems I had tested.

I get a strange error when I select more then one cut. Time is not shown as it should for example I get a mark at 1:60:06 (that can't be).
Moreover with more than one cut, the total lenght shown inside the plugin gets weird (3 hours and more for a recorded video of 2 hours)

I think these 2 errors are linked.

I can't seem to find any pattern for it doing it.
One example is some documentries that I recorded at the same time each week. Nothing really different although maybe a CVS update here or there.

These files have been on my machine for a while now. I can successfully cut a few of the files but some of the others do weird things like added the cut segments to the end of the original. Or completly screw up the total time and once run cut the wrong time segments...

I know this probably doesn't help that much other than confirm that I and others arn't going completly insane.

Great work though - hope you can figure out what is going on...

I just tried it again with an mpeg 2 file. It only cut one segment of my file as it always does with mpeg2 files. I have tried numrous times with the same result for each file format. Looking forward to future releases of this great plugin.

just to add my problem (which was reported before):

I did cut an dvr-ms. Start mark after approx. 5 min, End mark approx 5 min before the end (an normal recording with 5 min before and after).

I did cut correct in the beginning but I had some minutes too much in the end.

A mid-term idea: how about to send the cutting job somehow into a background task? You define you cutting job, you start it and then you go back watching TV until the cutter tells you "job done"?

Just upgraded to 0.2 and v pleased to see this in the app.

I've just used the plugin for the first time and here are my observations.

1. I too suffer from the last cut segment having End Time > File Length. I notice you have already noticed this and acknowledge the issue. It did cut correctly.
2. The Forward step button didn't work :? . Back was fine but not forward.

This is awesome though. The less I have to do outside of MP the better.

Do you mean Forward and Back buttons or the slider?
What skin are you using?
Both buttons and slider should work.

I mean the Forward button. The Back button and slider work fine. It's just the button.

Seems to only stop working when I have a Start point set. Setting the End point is a little awkward as a result but I can work around it.
