VLC 0.9.x External Player Plugin (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I only want to use VLC in Videos and Music not in TV-Mode... Is this possible? And what do I have to do?

Hi Thor2605,
You can install the Plugin and go to Configuration. You can choose extensions you want to be played with VLC.
By the Way TV Server Streams won't be played by VLC, due of Mediaportal Mecanism .

RAR Support

Hi Cboury,

thanks for your plugin...i would like to use VLC and your plugin to playback some of my Files, which are stored into Multi-Archives (*.RAR, *.R00, *.R01 ...). In VLC i can open the first Archive-File and it playback the contained Movie (great Feature!).

Is it Possible to integrate this File-Extension (is there aconfig-file?) into your plugin for direct playback?

I will have a look on , just time to fix some problems with my Lenovo....
In next version, extensions will be the same as mediaportal, it already work but need to be compiled. So it will be necessary to test if Multiarchive is supported by the Vlc API.

Hello this is the Only solution that i really think will work on my problem...

I have
DealExtreme: $13.43 EasyCAP USB 2.0 Audio/Video Capture/Surveillance Dongle
EASYCAP USB 2.0

Xp use it as a CAMERA OR SCANNER device... (or u can say a WEBCAM)

Can mediaportal use it as a TV ? and use record funtion on it ? what exactly i want is
1) View Easy cap output in mediaportal trough TV option
2) use record funtion
3) zoom and other funtion fot the video (just basic zoom, colour etc)
that is it nothing else... No teletext, nothing nothing atall. I will use my stb to change the channel or tune in...

Kindly help with it.. I read the manual and wiki but nothing mentioned there

my stb give 3 rca pin which i connect to TV AV but now i will use it with EASYCAP ON THE PC..


i used camplayer plugin but it doesn't show complete (i mean the setting is not PAL B i guess) but it somehow works. it is of no use if i can't record it....it just show the screen but nothing else i can't record it please tell me how to record it inside mediaportal...

i tried to stream VLC (i installed the MPI)
but i don't know how to activate it in Mediaportal ? there is no plugin .. i just see the Mpi INSTALLED in extension section of mp....
How to get the dshow streamming to work with mp and than record it with a button...

I had the same problem...try to open the *.MPE1 File with "MPIinstaller.exe" File in your Mediaportal-Directory. After this step you can enable and configure the VLC-Plugin.

I tried still didn't work

Mediaportal version 1.0.2.22555
what i did is copied Videolan.MPE1 into C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\ folder
than i used C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MPInstaller.exe to install the Videolan.mpe1
Install was successfull

I started MP config.
Video lan In external player which in Plugins tab
I enabled it by pressing the enable button


Now for the config part
-On parameters tab everything is default
-on extension tab
file association .gary .ts
Selected UDP NOW IN THE BOX "192.168.1.4:1234"
-ON RECORD TAB
path is desktop
transcoding is IPOD
maximum vlc 1

That is it...
Now how to access the VLC option in MP ?
i do not see anything in mp not in the home nor in the Plugins


For the VLC part
version 0.9.9

Ctrl+s (open streaming)
Select Capture Devices tab
Capture mode Direct show
Video device name "My cam"
audio device "USB MY CAM"

Click Stream
Selected
Play Locally
rtp
prefer udp over rtp 192.168.1.4 portnumber 1234

Except if i'm wrong Rar support is planned for vlc 1.0.0 isn't it ?

Sorry...i forgot to give you a note:
I use VLC 0.9.9 with an extra plugin, called UnRAR ( VLC UnRAR plugin - RAR player « shapeshifter.se ) to play RAR-Files. I don't know if there is RAR-Support planned with VLC 1.0 - is it?
