    Hi there,

    I had installed the main 2.68 driver, and it installed a Realtek High Definition Device along with my existing AMD High Def device!, I tried uninstalling the AMD device, but with no joy, I tried replacing the AMD driver with the Realtek one and it BSOD'ed - thats when I asked...

    I eventually figured out I needed that seperate driver (which is an older version). Now I have just Realtek devices running.

    So I have AMD/ATI 12.4 graphics drivers and chipset drivers, along with Realtek HDMI device drivers. I'll see if that solves the issue of no audio/missing HDMI devices after a resume!

    It seems I stepped in this poop called CCC 12.4 as well.

    Audio over HDMI broken on resume.

    using those realtek 2.67 drivers fixes it.
    but instead u cant use WASAPI no more.
    so realtek isn't really an option for me.
    as stuff like reclock and Mediaportal audio renderer is severely crippled (they make use of WASAPI).

    Time to get back to 12.3

    note to self: always check this thread before venturing into installing new CCC.

    YES Please. No stepping in Poop please! :eek:
    Lets help us all by sharing experiences in this thread. Its been kind of quit here. To me this suggests 12.4 is OK.

    Personally, I do still use CCC 12.4. But: I have NO audio over HDMI, only video. I still use the optical SPDIF to the receive because I have a Xonar (dont know if thats a good thing though... ghehehe) So I dont have any issues.

    Setup:
    HD5670 + CCC 12.4 --> HDMI TV
    Xonar audio --> SPDIF 5.1
    No TVcard at the moment
    No BR player

    12.4 gives me occasional stuttering on Radeon 3200 IGP, even when using PowerDVD 10/12. Now going to try LAV with copy back. MS codecs are useless with my hardware :/

    With the latest LAV and SAF6.11 LAV supports native DXVA. Works well with me (SAF).

    now I'm back with the 12.3 drivers.
    As exptected the HDMI audio connectivity issues have improved.
    Although I still had one case where the HDMI audio was lost.
    So in my case it's not entirely cured.

    I guess the only real cure would be to go for a nvidia card if you want stable HDMI/audio connection.

    Or can anyone recommend a realtek HDMI audio driver that is stable and supports WASAPI ?

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately I cant help with WASAPI as I dont use it. :(

    I dont have any issues with 12.4 and pixelation, although I did have issues with the HDMI device disappearing. Since switching to Realtek it seems to have solved the problem.

    a word of warning...

    Many AVR's have very fragile HDMI boards.
    you should never hot plug a HDMI cable on a live AVR.
    Turn in off before plugging in the HDMI cable.

    I wonder how many ATI-HDMI-AUDIO plagued users have fried their AVR's ?
