I have my subtitles in the directory of the AVI file in both .srt and .sub formats.
For some reason I can't get it to work.

I am opening the movie and press L but nothing happens.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Hi dirkhaim, and welcome to the forum :)

Make sure that the subtitle file and the movie file has EXACTLY the same name (but different extension of course).

    ie.:
    KingKong-rippedbyTheOne.avi
    KingKong-rippedbyTheOne.srt

Thanks. I am really happy to MediaPortal. It looks very promising.

Already verified this. VLC can catch and play these subs with no problem.

I saw some reply to this using ffshow raw, but it didn't do the trick for me. Anyway, I don't want to go to the tray to activate the subs

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

Some MP2 installers contain three TV Servers: TVE3 TVE3.5 TvMosaic If the installer that you used offers you the choice of these three TV Servers, select TVE3. If you selected TVE3.5, run the installer again and select TVE3. The Kodi plugin is described as being intended for MP 2.5 and TVE3, so it should work. Unfortunately I do...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
