What processes start when MP plays video?
I have tried looking in taskmanager in the processes tab and i don't see anything new start when MP plays a video or recorded TV.

I run BOINC projects on my GPU and it causes video to play badly. BOINC is set up so you can create a configuration file to tell BOINC to suspend the GPU process when another process starts.
So if i can find a process that starts when MP plays video i can tell BOINC to stop using the GPU and the video will play normally.

I just set up mpc-hc to play videos and it works great as soon as mpc-hc.exe starts BOINC stops using the GPU but unfortunately i can't get .ts files to play an external player.
I'd rather use the internal player anyway if i can find a process that starts and runs when MP plays a video i will be set.

Internal player is internal, so it wont open any new processes.
