If the funtionality you require is met by above, great, and the plugins\skins are to your requirements why update.
The only reason i can think of is some plugins\skins will only work with newer versions "correctly"
Cannot fault your logic on this one
If it works, then leave it alone!
Otherwise you will end up upgrading a perfectly working system, and may end up with loads of bugs etc!
