What would you like to see next in the Trakt Plugin? (3 Viewers)

Preview of the Dashboard feature using DefaultWide, this example is one of many ways you can present it as the skinning side of things is pretty flexible. All information can be pushed to skin from any window such as the main trakt window or basichome...that's up to skinners to decide.

1. I would like to be able to watch the movie trailer provided by trakt website as part of the context menu when I press F9 on a trakt movie in the trakt plugin

2. I would like to be able to watch the movie trailer provided by trakt website as an option when viewing details in moving pictures. Currently some skins support searching imdb trailers with the movie title search string via the online videos plugin, however I find this is a really messy way to do it and it comes up with heaps of links some of which are not the trailer. I've only looked at half a dozen trailers on the trakt website, but all of them have been accurate links to youtube trailers videos.

3. If a movie is in my collection in the trakt plugin, pressing enter currently takes me into the moving pictures details page this is good. If a movie is not in my collection/library then nothing happens when I press enter. Instead I think pressing enter on a non library movie should bring up the same context menu I get when I press F9.

4. Currently if a tv show is highlighted in trakt plugin and that tvshow is in my library then pressing enter will start playing the latest unwatched episode. I would prefer it if enter just brought me into the tvseries plugin with that show (similar to moving pictures action) without actually playing an episode.

5. If a tv show is highlighted in trakt plugin and that tvshow is not in my library then nothing happens when I press enter on it. Instead I would prefer it if the context menu came up, ie. the same context menu I get when pressing F9 on a tvshow.

These are on my todo list, I just need to research if OnlineVideos allows playing a trailer directly. I'm pretty sure there is a way but need to double check.

I'd also have to check whether the trakt trailers are good with a sample of maybe 30 movies to see if it is worthwhile. Personally I found the best way to find a trailer for a movie is to goto youtube.com and search "%movietitle% %year% trailer", and the first result has been correct every time I've tried it.

That's strange, it should do an automatic search for trailers in OnlineVideos in that case. Do you have OnlineVideos installed? The context menu is another option as you say.

We can add an option for that, only reason it was coded like that is because there is no details view as such. Also at the time of writing that functionality the TVSeries plugin didn't have support to jump into a particular series...but I have added that a few versions ago now

Should do the same as 3) which is not working for you for some reason.

Yes I have online videos. It doesn't happen in avalon skin, nothing happens when I click enter. Do you want me to try in default wide, or post a log or anything?

Yes personally I think jumping into tvseries tvshow page would be better

Yeah might need a log for that, I just did a test using DefaultWide and it worked, here is the corresponding log output:

Support for this is added now, if trakt movies have a trailer then it will play directly in online-videos without needing to do an online search.

Jumping to series is supported now, if Ok/Enter is pressed. If Play is pressed then it will play first unwatched episode.

Awesome work, hopefully this feature will filter through into the skins for moving pictures so u can jump directly into trailers rather than having to do the online videos search. Is this feature possible to add to moving pictures at the skin level? ie/ if trakt trailer present play trakt trailer if not do an online videos search?
