Hopefully this isn't a repeat request (I read all 6 pages and didn't see it, so fingers crossed).
I now have Trakt friends and enjoy looking through what they've been watching. If I see a movie they've watched, I can hit enter and the trailer for that movie starts (if I don't already have the movie of course).

So I watch the trailer, and think, "Hmmm, Wouldn't mind watching that". I'd like to then pull up a menu and "Add to Watch List" (if that's the correct method), so that it adds to the movies I'd like to have.

Then of course in the background, that watchlist is constantly being monitored by CouchPotato etc. and the rest just happens automatically.

So in essence: I see that my friend watched a movie, I then want to obtain it so that I can watch it to.

I think most if not all of the capability is already within Trakt/Moving Pictures etc., so perhaps I can already do this somehow or it would be relatively simple to implement?

You're feature request is to allow user to access context (F9/Info) menu on the main trakt screen under "see what your friends are up to" ??

Note: If you browse friends, then view their watch history, you can already add to your own watch list via existing context menu.

I think dir is referring to the Friends -> Watched History.

I'm pretty sure we already have a Add to Watchlist menu item (i.e. you want to watch this movie in the future) as kiwijunglist mentioned. The monitoring by coach potato however is not something I'm familar with but there might be already support for that where Coach Potato monitors your trakt watchlist (guess you can head over to Coach Potato forums and ask away).

As you are probably already aware your watchlist can sync to MovingPictures / MyFilms so you can readily watch your local watchlist items.

Note: the Friends WatchedHistory does not know if you already have it in your watchlist or library, that's deficiency of the trakt API where those settings are not available (just in case you wonder why the icons don't appear on the poster in those screens.).

So in summary, the MediaPortal trakt plugin already has what you need, you just need to find out if Coach Potato can monitor your trakt watchlist and auto-download. Let us know what you find out.

Yup it definitely already is available in friends watch history, that is why I think he might be referring to the main page "see what your friends are up to" part, in this part there is no context menu available.

    Ah, I understand now.

Yes, if I go to the Friends list and select a specific friend, then select the list of movies he/she has watched, I can add a movie to my watchlist. However, that's a convoluted path and not one I'd naturally ever do.

The normal activity (for me, anyway), is to only look at the main Trakt screen, where the default view (in the Titan skin at least) is to show the "See what your friends are up to..." list.

I normally just scroll through this list to see what my friends have watched. If I see a movie that someone has watched that I don't have, I'd like to add it to my watchlist right at that point (via f9 menu, I'd assume).

That's a much shorter path to do what (to me) is an intuitive activity - quickly scanning what my friends have been up to, and acting on it right there. Having to remember which friend and which movie it is, and go through the Friends/Watched Movies list, and find the movie, is of course possible, just not as streamlined I suppose.

Yeah, I understand. I will try get that functionality in.

I was thinking of also doing a details view for Shows / Movies / Episodes, so if you were to click on the activity it would take you to the corresponding details window for the selected item. Apart from the obvious details like description, posters etc it would also show a set of buttons such as Trailer, Shouts, Related, AddToList, AddToWatchlist etc. It may be more intuitive to add to your watchlist that way since some people dont even know about context menus in MediaPortal (at least that has been my experience on the forums).

Both methods wont hurt anyway, I sometimes find myself wanted to find out more about the selected item ;)

I can add such monitoring to MyTorrents Mediaportal plugin if it is needed. Not CouchPotato ofc but still more than nothing ;)
