I like the firefly quite a bit. We have built in support, so you don't need snapstream's crap program. Its completely configurable in MP and the default settings work very well.

I use this too and really like it.

One problem I have is that the channel +/- buttons don't change the channels in live tv screen.

    Any ideas???

Can anyone tell what the best working remote for MP is.. because im getting a bit irritated on that slowmoving thing

Check peoples "my system" But make sure you get the EUROPEAN one with the teletext buttons, as these have functions in MP.

I also vote the MCE Remote. Purchased for AUD$40 off ebay.

I was running XP Home, so had to get the right drivers from XP Pro. It hasn't missed a beat in 6 months.

Is the MS remote capable of powering up the PC

From Standby\Hibernate within a Windows envirnment yes, not from a total shutdown unless you have a specialist case\motherboard that supports IR input when powered off.

yeah you know i just shut down the hard drives and let intel EIST do its thing with my htpc. it's on a big ups servicing a flat panel (BIG BIG commercial ups full-time not standby type) i've always had best luck leaving things on. i spose the usb cable will shutdown the pc if the 20 minute (with tv on) out of power mark hits. you can get old ups' pretty cheap (free actually) and just buy a new battery. this unit can add more batteries on to extend even more time. the draw from a westy 42" LCD is amazingly low at full white :)
