I like the firefly quite a bit. We have built in support, so you don't need snapstream's crap program. Its completely configurable in MP and the default settings work very well.

I use this too and really like it.

One problem I have is that the channel +/- buttons don't change the channels in live tv screen.

    Any ideas???

You need to change the mapping for those buttons in the configuration program.

    Remote

Recently I jumped into the MP PC stuff. I got the nmediapc kb / remote control device. Didn't work well and stupid me I didn't know I couldn't use the R/F with MP (could be wrong but couldn't get it to work. I have the latest MP and am running it in an Antec Veris Fusion Black 420 HTPC case with the IMON soundgraph display / IR. I would like a suggestion on the remote that would work with this IR and would work with MP as the nmediapc doesn't work at all plus it's poor quality. Thanks a lot. I will hold off on my newegg order until you gurus get back to me. :D

Will the MS A90-00007 WinXP media center infrared remote work with the imon soundgraph and mediaportal? Here is the remote > Newegg.com - Microsoft A9O-00007 WinXP Media Center Infrared Remote Control

did you ever have any luck with that nmediapc kb/remote combo? that's the same one I have now... the quality seems to be fine for me... but now that I am setting up media portal, I'm unsure of how to set up this remote to work with MP. Out of the box, mediaportal recognizes a few keys (arrow keys, OK, enter, etc) but that's it. I'm searching around looking for a solution to getting the rest of the buttons mapped, but havn't found it yet. Did you?

    Thanks

I finally made to move to the MCE remote and transmitter. I used to use a iMon PAD and its transmitter (Silverstone GD01-MX) programmed in a Harmony 525. I had nothing but problems. So, I bought a MCE remote, programmed the Harmony as a MCE remote, installed the transmitter and NEVER looked back.

I am a user of the MCE remote. It works very good in MP. It always works. :)
BUT. I am getting sick and tired of all the different remotes I have now. A remote for TV, HTPC and the Receiver. When Im watching a movie through the HTPC I still need to switch the channel with the TV remote, controle the volume with the receiver remote (cant program the MCE correctly)... Sigh... very annoying at times. Above that, I always seem to be sittin on one of the remotes... ghehehe..

So, yesterday I bought a Logitech Harmony remote. I havent received it yet, but all the devices should be operated with this one remote. I have read many positive articles and reviews of their remotes.. So. You might want to consider this as well.

    Regards

Since I see folks are mentioning the Harmony 500's work with MP via MCE and the reciever then I can assume that the newer Harmony remotes such as the 880 and One will also work right?

You can find some info on how to do this HERE...

I have an iMon display as well. It works differently compared to the standard MCE receiver. It translates any remote command to keyboard commands. You can define each keyboard command in the IMon software. To be honest, I am not that happy with this system. For me its a bit sluggisch. But it can work.
I have choosen to use the MCE receiver instead.

    Good luck with it.

I use a black version of this remote :

Works perfectly once you select MCE Remote in setup. :)
