I've been curious (sp?) on the Harmony controls for a long time but just how does it work? Do you manually have to program each button one at the time like one has to program the power-button on the MCE-remote? Or can you just "plug it in" to a computer and download the settings? How much work is it to set it up for:

    - A Panasonic TV
    - Onkyo reciver
    - HTPC with Mediaportal

I will probably receive my harmony today. I will let you know how it works.
But from what I read, I get the impression you need to connect it to your computer with USB. After that you can adjust the remote and download the appropriate software/configurations. I dont know for sure yet... Also, I read that setting it up to achieve your perfect settings could be like a week fine tuning or something.

Ok, I received my harmony 785.

The feel is reasonable good. Some buttons are hard plastic, but thats the only downside. Big plus is the LCD screen. Backgrounds and a diashow is programmable :D

    I have:
    - Yamaha RX-V661
    - Sony KDL32-D3000
    - HTPC (with MCE remote receiver)

I simply had to select the correct devices and it downloads the settings from some database. Now when I press "Device" I see TV/Receiver/HTPC. I press the correct device, and all the buttons work with that device. I can also program the LCD buttons. There is a LCD screen for 6 buttons per screen. Each button is programmable. Also I can use other remotes to learn its command from.
I can also use a sort of 'macro-function' called 'activeties'. One keypress can then do something among all the devices in a programmed sequence. i.e.
Watch HTPC does: Turn on Tuner, Set tuner to correct channel, Set TV to correct channel, Start Mediaportal.

So, Im happy. Takes some fine tuning, but once its set to my perfect wishes, I think I will ditch all other remotes in a drawer.. :) :) Oh.. Ofcourse... First I need to explain how it works to my GF.. Sigh...

    Hi everybody,
    - If I get a logitech Harmony 555 to control MP, do I need any stuff more to work properly? (Some IR receiver or something?)
    - Do you know where can I buy a Firefly or MCE remote control in Spain?

Thank you very much for you help in advance ;-)
