Which skin installation method do you prefer? (1 Viewer)

After several months since the last official release, I'd like to know the preference of the Black Glass skins users when installing and keeping the skins updated.

Hi Tgx, i think Mpe1 file , i know many users not install BG skins svn , for new and not so advance users the mpei is the best way for them to install the skin, as a skin devloper you probley wont the most users as posble .... the easy way ....



Edit: i think also you need a doc' with screenshots for basic home editor as is the most comment throw the years ,for new users...

MPEi for first install and patches for updates coz it is strange to download 40 mb mpei file is only several skin files was updated

i agree mpe for stable release and first install instead svn for updates

the best will be for updates ,SAME AS streanedmp update style ,from inside the skin ....

SVN is great for intermediate states, MPEi is the standard and "Streamed MP way" is the future, but only as MediaPortal native method. For now I have choosed definitely MPEi.

Definitely MPEi as SVN updates are a pain in the a** for most users. Installing TurtoiseSVN only for skin updates is another step I normally would avoid. The best software is the one you do not need

MPEi was made to present updates to the user nicely.

Yes, an mpe1 installer is coming. I still have to work on some plugins for the Nova skins such as: myFilms, youtube.fm, mvCentral and Stocks&indices. Maybe in a week.
