    Hi Shukuyen,

I just wanted to add that I had experienced exactly the same as "downlinx" (MP 1.2.1).
Initially I could get to the plugin configure and than suddenly stopped working spitting same errors.
I tried everything but uninstalling the MP and I couldn't make it work again.

    Cheers,

Can you please attach log files?

    Hi Shukuyen,

    Thanks for responding.
I am not sure which logs you are referring to so I attached the error screenshot in addition to the error details.
I'd like to point out that the plugin is still responding to the Demo Client despite not being able to connect with aMPdroid and that the error only pops up when trying to access the plugin configuration.

I am happy to provide you with more info but please be more specific... I did try using the MP Debug Mode but soon as I start configuration the MP exits and the debug tool does not capture anything.

    Regards,

    Re : WifiRemote - a tcp remote control server 0.5 [2011-11-01]

    Hi,

I've got the same installing problem then the others. I'm using MP 1.2.1.0 and there are my logs :

    from mp error log

"2011-12-16 15:21:52.000000 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: PluginManager: WifiRemote.WifiRemote is tagged as incompatible with the current MediaPortal version and won't be loaded!"

I can't find your assembly compatibility information in the google code "[assembly: CompatibleVersion("1.2.1.0")]", is there someone who have already set up wifiremote on MP 1.2.1.0?

    Thank you

    Edit 1 :

Ok, I've download the file from the google svn and I've found the code into the assembly.cs file into VisualC#

On the assembly I could find this line :

    [assembly: CompatibleVersion("1.1.6.27644")]

I thing that the actual bug compatibility come from this line. I don't understand why because the argument is a min. version but I'm actually developing a plugin and I've put this line [assembly: CompatibleVersion("1.2.1.0")] and I've got no compatibility problem with my plugin.

Could you make a new built of the DLL with this change to test it?

    Thank you!

    Edit 2 :

I made the modification [assembly: CompatibleVersion("1.2.1.0")] on the assembly.cs file and I made the compilation with "COMPILE_FOR_1_2_0" argument and now I can see the plugin into MPConfig with no compatibility problem. Unfortunately the plugin doesn't work!

WifiRemote is working with mepo >1.2 and the compatibility check. I don't think the problem you are experiencing is that general, or it would always happen, not only in a few cases.

petrov, are you sure there is only one WifiRemote.dll in your mediaportal plugin folders? Maybe you have some renamed backup in there?

    Shukuyen,

As you can see from the screen-shoot there is only one dll.
I should mention though that during troubleshooting I did install and reinstall the plugin few times... I tried through "MediaPortal Extension Installer" as well as WifiRemote_0.5.0.mpe1
As mentioned before no matter what the furthermost I got is:
    - successfully connected using "DemoClient_1.1" from the local PC where the Wifiremote is installed as well as from remote PC
    - from aMPdroid, I could not make the remote work and this was the reason for multiple re-installs
    - from aMPdroid, I could browse the videos bot not the music (this may be the MP setup it doesn't bother me at this stage)

Note: Even though the screen-shot shows (Vista) for the C drive the OS is Win7 Ultimate x64 and the MP is 1.2.1.

    Cheers,

    UPDATE:
    - from aMPdroid, I did make the remote work, wasn't aware of the "Connect Remote"
    - from aMPdroid, the browsing issue (as predicted) turned out to be my MP setup
    - however the "plugin configuration" still troughs an error

:D for the amazing plugin, I'm sure it will only get better... MP + aMPdroid + MP Display2 brings the whole experience to a new level...

    Cheers,

You're right! I can't find from where the problem comes but I installed WifiRemote on an other MP client in the house and it works with aMPdroid on my phone.

running MP 1.1.2 (i don't want to switch cause i'd loose the "Keyboard Input Plugin"
Downloaded the legacy WiFi remote and it says I need version 1.1.2
that's the version I have, what can I do to get it installed?
can you provide an unpacked version like just the dlls it needs?

    regards!

Hm? The Keyboard Input Plugin works fine in 1.2.1, at least on one of my systems.

    Interesting.
I'd swear that it's not listed in the "known" extensions and when I tried to install it manually it wouldnt show up. but I'll keep that in mind.,

Still, if the WiFi remote has a legacy version for 1.1.2 it should work

Maybe someone with version 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 has this installed and can provide me with the dll?

    hi,

I'm having a similar problem. I went in to add authentication after successfully installing, but then got an error. I've tried un-re- installing etc.

    I'm running MP 1.2.2.

Attached the error after trying to config via mp/configuration/plugins, and also if i try to configure via MP Installer.

Looks like a great app, just couldn't get to remotely connect when i first tried (hence trying to play around with authentication settings)

    Hope these images help
