hi, ive just tried to config the plugin after installation, and i get this message :

failed to locate assembly "common.Utils, Version=1.1.6.0
culture=neutral, publickeytoken=null"
Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in
the mediaportal folder, the execution will now end

any ideas how i can get this working ?

hi,

It looks like you are running a MediaPortal version before 1.2 beta but have WifiRemote for 1.2 beta installed. Please remove the WifiRemote.dll and try this installer: http://wifiremote.googlecode.com/files/WifiRemote_0.3.1.mpe1

Is it me or is there something wrong with this version "WifiRemote_0.3.1_beta"
When I install the mpe1, it emerge as an Incompatible plugin

I am running Mp 1.2.0 beta

When I install the mpe1, it emerge as an Incompatible plugin

Others reported similar problems already, but I have no idea why this could happen. I installed WifiRemote_0.3.1_beta on two MediaPortal clients without problems.

I am not sure, but is it possible that your MediaPortal installation has some fundamental problems? There are tons of "incompatible plugin" messages in the log, even for system stuff like this:

Plugin Manager: Plugin MediaPortal.Common.Utils.CompatibilityManager is incompatible with the current MediaPortal version!

It is more than possible that the WifiRemote error you see is a follow up error due to this.
