My parents are suffering from the same on their nvidia GT220.
Never seen it on my ATI HD4770 card.

Anyways.
Try this patch.
Haven't tested it here.

MP.exe is built on latest SVN and not RC1, so maybe it works, maybe it doesnt.
Patch file also included for DIY'ers.

open mediaportal.xml @ C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

insert key this key somewhere under the general section:

Look for "<section name="general">"

add:

<entry name="waitonresume">5000</entry>

specify a value in msec.
5 seconds in this case.

I'll be damned. This worked for me. Bravo, man, bravo. THANKS! :D

Doesn't work for RC1 indeed (version mismatch with TV server plugin). If this solves our problem it would be great if this can be implemented in Mediaportal. This problem is really annoying.

Thnx m8 but aint working for me either. Still a version mismatch.

    Code:
2010-03-08 20:30:58.332523 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: TvPlugin and MediaPortal don't have the same version.
Please update the older component to the same version as the newer one.
    MediaPortal Version: 1.0.5.0
    TvPlugin Version: 1.0.5.25080

    Sorry.

retry the above file again :)

    updated with 25080.

    :D this one works!

I just tried it and it seems to always resize properly. However I still see only a small part of the MP screen after resume (something like 800*600 starting from the upper left corner). Then after a few seconds it resizes back to full screen.

doesnt fix my problem but since the fix name = wait on resume i guess its a different issue.
this thread originally was intended for 2 seperate issues and i only had the problem when the htpc stays on but tv ot receiver is switched to other source. when putting tv or receiver back to htpc MP stays on incorrect resolution
