    Here we go for a build 1.4.0Final based on Windows 8.1 Preview : -->> HERE <<-- :p

Do you think this needs an extra jira entry or is there maybe already one?
Testing reports seem positive so far. :)

I think we need Jira entry and because Version number are for Preview and i'm pretty sure it will not work for 8.1 Final.
I just add in code this magic number supply by Scythe42 :)

Anyone else using a network drive for storage that no longer works with windows 8.1 and this version of MP? Everything was working fine, I stupidly installed this MP after win 8.1. All my network drives work fine, and can browse, write to the folder, play old media files. But when I try and browse to my network share (as before, not the mapped drive but the network share), I get 'Windows cannot access '<share>''. It will access it periodically. I have checked my login settings for the service and am using the same username (admin) to launch the service as before when it was working (though I tried other users as well). My log files have the following error:

    Code:
    [2013-07-30 02:20:13,676] [Log	] [13 ] [INFO ] - Controller: delete timeshift files \\SPIKE\RecordedTV\live2-0.ts
    [2013-07-30 02:20:13,680] [Log	] [13 ] [ERROR] - Exception :System.IO.IOException: The parameter is incorrect.
      at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.Directory.InternalGetFileDirectoryNames(String path, String userPathOriginal, String searchPattern, Boolean includeFiles, Boolean includeDirs, SearchOption searchOption)
at System.IO.Directory.GetFiles(String path, String searchPattern, SearchOption searchOption)
      at System.IO.Directory.GetFiles(String path)
      at TvService.CardReservationBase.CleanTimeShiftFiles(String folder, String fileName)

I can't tell for certain if this is an IO or Mediaportal error. I don't have these problems when i browse through windows explorer.

    Thanks.

I restored my install back from a backup taken prior.

Mediaportal just refused to run, and the config said it was not supported.

Might give it another try again when I get a chance.

Ok, found the answer on the mp web page under support os:
    • Windows 8 32- and 64-bit (as of v1.3.0)
    • Windows 8.1 32- and 64-bit (as of v1.5.0)
Must upgrade to 1.5 then install win 8.1.

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

Sorry, I didn't get email notifications on these latest replies. I just came here to report I solved the problem after adjusting power settings for "Intel Graphics". I set it to Maximum Performance. I tried many other things so it could be a combination of them, but this was the last thing I did and I haven't had the problem return...

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1
