further. I've just finished trying this in win7 home prem (32 bit) without fault.
I first removed my 2X nova s plus cards, installed this and as per instructions, installed the drivers from the dvd. (note that 'cancelling' the driver install wizard isn't an option in win7. it just said that the driver failed to install automatically, but I then went on to install via media and reboot the system).

scanned on both instances (as mentioned above the one card appears as two instances in mp server config) and both picked up all the HD channels happily.
tried running it up on an external screen and it worked fine, so tried via HDMI and also fine. changes channels 'okay' (not especially fast, but I am used to having two cards on separate buses so that's likely the delay.. at least I hope so) and recorded one channel whilst swapping to others happily too (differing muxes too.. recorded tv2 and then watched tv3, FOUR, U and TV3+1). then viewed the recorded TV and there was no stuttering or anything.

    things I did note:
some initial stuttering (at most 2 seconds) but I hope that's buffering or something?

the viewing was 'windowed'... letterbox style. I suspect that is cos I have currently got 2X VDU accessing the nvidia card (the LCD TV via HDMI and a 17" LCD test screen I have via VGA).

overall I am happy that the card is suitable to use for me, and now I need to figure out if I buy a second one, or if I get a hybrid (so I can use the EPG).
I have a week's leave in a fortnight so will work further on that then.
if anyone wants logs, speak now cos I'm going back to my previous config (need the extra channel access that 2 cards offer).

    update again:
second card arrived today, and I've spent the day trying to migrate to HD.. unsuccessfully. am currently in the process of restoring my win7 to the backup I made of it with the satellite cards. I had a copy of the win7 which was working fine for one card (I put that hard drive aside till the new card arrived), but my current win7 (despite being able to tune in to the terrestrial okay) would hang when I tried to watch TV. the 'preview' option in the mp server config would show a small black screen. so I exported my settings and copied the tvserver folder (from programdata) from the 'test' (working) win7 over the 'prod' (failing) win7 and she kicked into life. weird.... well, visually anyway.

the setup is 2X winfast dvt 2000DS cards for tv signal and 1X usb tuner specifically for EPG.

multiple issues that I've been ironing out slowly, but at last state:
I have video, but no audio on TV. I can watch and listen to previously recorded programmes, but if I watch liveTV I get no sound. decided that it's a codec issue, and not exactly sure how to fix it as yet, that's tomorrow's job (TV watching time has started again at our house).
codec issue is being blamed cos my XP client in the besdroom got sound fine, however I suspect either the network, the client or the server can't handle getting HD video synched up with the audio to the LCD in the bedroom:mad: .. it was about 10+seconds behind, and also very very stuttery video.

will post logs tomorrow in case anyone is interested.

Just a note for Leadtek card users (of which I'm one), I've found it's always worth checking the Leadtek site for the latest drivers (for your card and OS) and also the Win-PVR app - sometimes it appears the CDs/DVDs that ship with the card could be old driver versions.

Doesn't necessarily mean updated drivers is going to be the solution to all of your problems, though .....

    Cheers,
    Craig

p.s. as an extra side-note, I've been happily running 2 x Leadtek DTV1000s cards for a number of years now, across different versions of MediaPortal .... only now considering a change because I really want an extra tuner, but no slots left in the PC. Could take out the single-tuner Leadtek cards and replace with dual-tuner cards to get 4 tuners. (which raises another question, how the heck did we create a world where someone needs 4 tuners!?!?!?)

thanks for that Craig. I downloaded the latest drivers yesterday.
now I have the inverse problem, so I'm pretty sure it's codec based.
I can watch and hear all previously recorded stuff. no problem there.
I hear all channels and can view some:
    tv One: audio only
    tv2: audio only
    tv3: audio only
FOUR: audio and video. video stutters mostly during scene change
Maori Tv: audio and video. video stutters mostly during scene change
U: audio and video. video stutters mostly during scene change
tvnz7: audio and video. video stutters mostly during scene change
tv3+1: audio and video. video stutters mostly during scene change

make of that what you will:confused:

log attached. any advice out there on this one? seems to be the relationship between this card and MP, or just the change to high def perhaps? not sure. tia.

Try this patch from this thread worked for me. I currently have 2 x dtv1000s and 1 xdtv2000ds in my system with no issues on Win7.

thanks Limeyj. do you mean the TVLibrary[1.1.3_combined_tuner-capture_filter].zip file?
and is there any chance you could screenshot your codec settings for me? I'm feeling the codecs are still an issue for me.

Rocklander, I downloaded the TVLibrary[1.1.2_Winfast_USB_final].zip on page 5 as I'm still running 1.1.2.

The 1.1.3 is for the latest version of Media portal.

Process of installing the patch is

    1. Stop TV Server service
    2. Take a backup of the TVLibrary.dll in your TV Server install folder.
    3. Copy new TVLibrary.dll to the TV Server folder

If you have problems you can roll back the the backup of TVLibrary.dll.

My codec are set to the defaults one
MPEG-2 Video decoder - MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)
Audio - MPC - MPA Decoder Filter.

Give it a try and let us know how you go.
    good luck

    Hi Rocklander

I don't know how I missed your comments on this thread :sorry:
As the person who created the patch that limeyj has linked, I'm inclined to believe that you're right and that what you're experiencing are codec issues and/or the result of hardware that can't handle the load. Especially since TV One, TV 2 and TV 3 are the HD channels. I tried to look at your logs but they either seem to be password protected or corrupted. Do you mind grabbing some new logs and listing the spec of the system(s) that are having trouble - I'm getting a little confused with all the card swapping...

argh! you're right, the zip is corrupted.
I'll have a look tonight and see if I still have it, or else I'll redo them.
