Re: WorldWeather plugin v0.2.5 for MediaPortal v1.2.0 or higher

Hi Micropolis: Nice you got lat. long. fixed!! It is working well here on my English OS now. I still find Google API is missing weather locations that display weather in Google Maps (I thought it would be the same but I guess not! :() Even Christchurch NZ does not work (even with location code).

It was good you added #WorldWeather.TodayIconDescription because it reveals why often my icons and backdrops are incorrect. For example, for Delhi, #WorldWeather.TodayCondition displays 'Smoke' correctly, but #WorldWeather.TodayIconDescription displays "Chance of rain/Showers/Smoke/Haze' and the icon (and backdrop) which displays is 11 (T-Showers / Showers / Light Rain) instead of Smoke which is what #WorldWeather.TodayCondition shows. Again on Google maps/weather overlay the correct icon for Smoke displays. Is there something you can do about that or is it an issue in Google's weather API?

Other than that, 2.7 is working much better! Thanks! Nice to have you back - I hope you had a good vacation.

    Hello Dadeo,

Is there something you can do about that or is it an issue in Google's weather API?

your statement points to a very critical part of this plugin.
Inside the original weather plugin it was easy to match the condition to images, because there was a 1:1 relation. Google API does not support all well known conditions, the granularity is not high enough. Because of this, only a subset can be matched directly (e.g. Smoke, Haze and others match to the same). This results in a description like "Chance of rain/Showers/Smoke/Haze". The only chance to get better results is to use a weather provider with higher granularity and matching factor.

@all: after fixing the longitude/latitude bug I had found a serious calculation problem for sunrise/sunset. I'm aware of this, the same routines works in my WorldClock plugin correctly. So I hope, it is not complicated to fix this today in the evening.

    Cheers, Micropolis

    Hi Micropolis,

thanks a lot for this plugin..

I have one question: It should be possible now to show moving satalite images right? Well, It doesn't work for me with the latest version.. The image doesn't move..

Do you know what to do?

I'm using StreamedMP skin btw and the image I'm trying to add is: http://knmi.nl/neerslagradar/images/meest_recente_radarloop451.gif

    Best regards,

    Macel

    Hi Micropolis,
Thank you very much for your great work.
Looking at the last 0.2.7 preview of the plugin, I notice that into the string file it is still missing Moonphase label.
In addition I wonder if you could add a label for Weather Forecast (it should be useful for skinner to identify with static labels different graphic frames for actual conditions and weather forecast).

    Thanks again

    Hi,

here is a Dutch language file for version 0.27. For Dutch users: PUt the file into: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\language\WorldWeather

There is only a strange (?) thing.. A lot of things are still in English as you can see in the image bellow.. (thing like; "Chance of rain") Is that normal?
