With 0.2.0 RC1 I could teach MP the codes to change channels . With RC2 and any of the recent CVS-Daily builds, whenever I click learn settopbox or Learn Media Portal commands I would get an error saying the driver wasn't loaded. Even though the config program displays, 'USBUIRT version detected: Plugin version: 1.1 (April 01, 2004) - Firmware Version: 5.6 (October 06, 2003)'. I'm using the latest driver from usbuirt.com and have the latest firmware.

If I learn the codes in RC1 then upgrade to a CVS-Daily build, MP works just fine and changes channels correctly. I just can't change or test them. My USB-UIRT works fine with everything else I use it in, Zoom Player+Girder, and SageTV Trial. And from the sounds of it I should at least be able to attempt to learn. Any clues as to what is wrong?

I'm not seeing this issue with RC2 or any of the recent cvs builds.

Have you looked at the mediaportal.log for usbuirt errors? My log shows the following entries on USBUIRT startup:

Note that you aren't running the latest firmware. Unfortunately, the firmware download link on usbuirt.com appears to be broken. You may want to post on the usbuirt forum and ask Jon Rhees for the latest firmware.

There were *many* changes made to the usbuirt support code begining approx 10/27/2005. IIRC RC1 was released 9/2005 so it's quite likely that some of these changes broke compatibility with usbuirt firmware versions prior to the version I used to develope against (5.9 [March, 26, 2004]).

Can anyone else confirm they are having similar errors? In the meantime, I'd recommend trying a firmware update.

Hmmm. I made quite a few changes to the UIRTUSB-remote.xml and UIRTUSB-tuner.xml data formats which might be causing some problems when they are loaded.

Try removing your UIRTUSB-remote.xml and UIRTUSB-tuner.xml from the mediaportal folder (move the files to a different folder). With the files removed, try launching configuration.exe and see if you can learn some codes. If this works, you'll need to re-learn your mp control and tuner codes.
