I don't know exactly how I have it set up, but I only use USBURIT and I am able to move around the guide just fine. When I get home I will take look at it.

Hi Steve.... just a quick note to let you know I tried the remote while in TV Guide and still nothing happened.

Hmm, that's odd--I'll have a look at it.

In the meantime, can you confirm that the MP / USBUIRT are recognizing the learned numeric keys for your remote? You can do this by Launching configuration.exe and selecting Remote-->USBUIRT-->Learn Media Portal commands. With the learning wondow open, you should be able to see received commands in the learning window's status bar. Pressing the "0" key on your remote should result in the following message in the status bar:

    Received: [REMOTE 0]

Please confirm that your remote 0-9 buttons are correctly mapped and being recognized as REMOTE 0 -- REMOTE 9 actions.

    Thanks -- Steve

Thanks for the reply Steve, the MP/USBUIRT are definately recognizing the learned keys on the remote. I'm getting the message as you indicated.

Thanks for trying to help fix this Steve

Steven. I first want to thank you for all your hard work on this... it looks like people are really enjoying it (Including myself)

I did several searchs for this keyboard but found nothing. It's going through the USBUIRT so I guess I need to start here first. This is a keyboard that came with the 7200 dishplayers. Because of it's size and buttons I think it would be perfect addition to MP. They are pretty cheap too (15 bucks total on ebay) I know most of the keys could be mapped so that shouldn't be a problem. But what about all the Letter keys? I would like to map these in to do searches and also use it to type in web sites. Is this something that could be added at a later date?

    Thanks again.

    m0rt,

I won't have an opportunity to look at this until Thursday--I'll keep you posted.

    ASiDiE,

While I could likely get the USBUIRT to recognize the keyboard codes, I suspect there would be significant lag. Also, I'm not sure what this would buy us over a regular wireless keyboard.

The only thing this keyboard would have over another is the size. But that is about it. I had no idea there would be lag when typing with the keys. If this is the case, its probably not worth the time. I am just throwing out ideas to see if people like them :) I am just happy someone picked up this project and it is where it is today. I love not having to use girder anymore!!!

    Thanks again Steve.

Just a quick heads up to let you know that I have found and corrected the channel tuning bug several of you reported. I need to do a little more testing but should be able to get this submitted within the next day or so.

I'll post once I have submitted the changes.

Hi Steve, I have a Sky Plus+ remote (pictured below) and was wondering if support for letter keys is likely to get added.
