Wrong font in Infoservice causes stuttering (1 Viewer)

Hi

For certain headlines StreamedMP chooses the wrong font in the InfoService plugin. In the attachment you can see that the letters are not in capital. In this case the scrolling of the headline shows a bad stuttering, which also occurs in the ticker on the BasicHomeScreen. I did not find any rule when and why certain headlines are affected, but it can lead the whole UI to freeze, after standby and resume.

I think its because the font can't handle certain characters...Ive actually seen similar issues with blue3wide as well for some characters.

It would be good if we found out what we dont support, and just do a replace on those chars before pushing the property.

i had this problem also but only with some rss reeds, one feed which was not working is this one: http://rss.orf.at/news.xml

perhaps this helps to identify the problem...

Hi ltfearme

I copied out two headlines with this problem. Both include characters like ":" or "-".

Loveparade-Drama: Sauerland – "Ich habe nichts unterschrieben"
Umfragetief: Von der CDU zur FDP – und dann ist man Nichtwähler

My guess is the quotes. There is a few different types of quotes, it could be the curly ones it chucks a fit on.

I dont think there is any problem with dashes or colons.

Maybe Infoservice could clean the text and remove any dodgy characters?

The same problem here - any updates ?

1) Is the problem possibly related to special characters in the RSS text or just related to the delimiter character(s) being used ?

2) Does anybody know, as to if and how one could change font and more importantly font-size of the infoservice text on the basic-home-screen ?

For whatever reason the default font got changed ( smaller ) without me explicitly doing anything in that regard.

Need to add support for the character in question, so without debug logs of infoservice your on your own.

Its best to know what the particular character we have a problem with and try to fix it in the fonts.
