Hi..
Someone knows how to use the MPC Viden decoder from Media Player Classic Home Cinema - DXVA! - Doom9's Forum to get the graphic card to accelerate the x264 content... How is subtitle mode used? MPC uses its own EVR custom render to get it to work..
Somebody managed to set this right up?

Im wondering the same. While using MPC-HC my CPU load while playing dxva files is on 3-4%. While using MP the load is 80-90% on the same file. I am using the DX9 renderer and MP is configured to use the PowerDVD CoreAVC codec for x264 content, which supports accelerating dxva. It just dont looks like it works properly.

You mean "Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder", CoreAVC is a different codec ;). Which PowerDVD version do you use? Did you enable the ATi HD registry tweaks?

Yeah, that is what i meant. ATI HD registry tweaks? Never heard of them, Ill check that thread. Though I havn't reflected much about it since in the codec's settings page I have dxva accelerated ticked, just seams like MP internal player is not using it. Works perfectly with MPC-HC where my cpu load is next to none as I stated before.

Btw. simple question: do you have hardware acceleration enabled in the PowerDVD configuration? ;)

Registry tweaks can be found here: ATI HD Registry Tweaks

Yes. Hardware acceleration is enabled in PowerDVD's configuration. Thanks for the link, checking it out now.

EDIT: After running that VBS script, no videofiles x264 or otherwise works from within MP. Still works perfectly in MPC-HC. Reversing the changes the VBS script made did not help.

EDIT2: Reregistering the filters restored it. Still the same issue where MP wont accelerate dxva content.

MP doesnt support HW acceleration when subtitles are rendered (excluding DVD or DVB subtitles).
