Well, i really liked the skin and as a beginner in skinning tried to make it for mediaportal. I only made the main page by adjusting a few files from the original mediaportal skin.

download link:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NMIYZZ6U or http://rapidshare.com/files/61946132/Xephyr.rar.html
to install
duplicate "BlueTwo Wide" folder and rename it to "Xephyr"
copy all the files from download link to "Xephyr" folder, choose to overwrite the files
don't forget to check "autosize window mode to skin" in mediaportal configuration because the skin is made for 720p

enjoy, don't hesitate to give your feedback and opinion

The problem with the menu is that it scrolls vertically instead of horizontally like the xmbc version. I looked through the limited guide about skinning and couldn't find if it was possible with mediaportal (maybe i can try the alternative menu). I opted for using just one button, which looks alright.

I'm gonna try to improve and skin the rest, but that could take a while. :)

Hi TSMOTW,

Seems we both saw this thread at the same time. I thought I'd try my hand at skinning too and really liked the look of this one.

Maybe we could work together on this to make it happen quicker?

So far I've only done the home screen but hopefully we can do something and make this skin a reality.

ok.... here's what I've done so far.

You must use basic home screen and you'll probably need quite a powerful computer as the background animations are quite graphics hungry!

I mainly did this for my own use so the chosen buttons on the home screen might not be to everyone's taste.

just unrar the file and copy the xephyr folder to your skin directory... you'll have to rename one of the folders if you've already tried out TSMOTW's.

WARNING file is 47.6Mb

I'm sure there'll be plenty of bugs in it but let me know what you think.

Looks great, like the transition after selection (moving to the left). Didn't thought about using images as buttons and cycle through backgrounds. Gonna look through it this week.
Just got home from the hospital after an appendicitis. So I don't got much time to work at the skin. Anyway I'm uploading my progress to a site. I was nearly done with My music, My videos and my weather, but didn't have time for anything else.

TSMOTW, can I use the latest RC for this or do I need SVN?

I installed it on a latest RC version, but all I get is the standard Blue skin. I have selected Xephyr in the configuration and the preview suggest it is loaded properly.

Attached my log file, can't seem to find anything in it that would indicate a problem?

Cheers.

I'm using the newset releasecandidate. Try deleting the xephyr skin and cache skin (at C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache). Or rename the map of the skin xephyr2.
