OK, then I will give ffdShow-audio a chance. I use only anyway the audio-decoder
for SPDIF passthrough. My A/V-receiver should make the whole working.

Spdifer than works as an audio-decoder or as postprocessing filter?

Edit: OK, it's an directshow filter.
:D

    finally tried the patch.

h264 channels seem to stutter quite often. but this has always been a problem for me when using rtsp.
i guess we need that winsock2 impl. in tsreader and streamingserver after all.

    @tompa,

This should fix your problem ( uninitialized flag at startup. !);)

Ill test and report how it works.

    Thanks!

No problem at all so far when watching SD TV ! ! My impression is also that zapping is faster, specially when going from one TV-card to another!

One thing noticed, if I'm watching TV and start a "recording" client still hangs, could this be related to tsreader??

Another issue i've found. When you're watching timeshift TV and you forward to the end the playback stops instead of showing live tv.

    Code:
    ...

    Hello,

I have tried the patched files for 21793 SVN release.

Ambas, the performance of these patches are superb in comparison to the standard release. So, many :D.
The zapping is much quicker apart from the odd occasion. However, I can't replicate a repeatable condition.

I thought I would test the (above) quoted issue but I cannot replicate. Sorry.

Well done all, this development is great.

    :)

I'm interested by the logs when you got rtsp stuttering. Are all samples continuoulsy late or only some of them ?

    Hi grubi,

it's right, I use AC3-filter, because in the past that was the best choice for me.
    I tested PowerDVD-Audiodecoder. That was a horror.
ffdShow is not supported (this is not my opinion) and so I tested without it.
In the past I used ffdShow with AC3-Filter for live-TV with good results.
I had no stuttering or dropouts. Only the channelswitching was to long and not so smooth.
    I' using DVB-S(S2) (look my system). I tested SAT1, Pro7 and RTL.

Yes AC3Filter also was the best choice for me in the past, but things seem to have changed.
ffdshow audio filter of course is supported. What you quote is related to the MPEG2 part of ffdshow.

BTW have you tried to disable jitter correction in AC3Filter?
    Maybe that fixes the problem.

I've now switched to ffdshow for Audio only - and will see what happen. It works fine until now.

Just checked the latest SVN with this patch applied together with AC3Filter and did not find any problems so far on my Vista32 installation. As you are also located in Germany and also have DVB-C can you tell me exactly which channel you have problems with and what soundtrack are you using? In the past I also noticed that the type of audio device you choose in MP (DirectSound or WaveOut) makes a difference).

    grubi.
