Connection method used for 1366 x 768

I am using my 6600GT with a 40" lcd at exactly 1366x768@66p (I havent gotten any other refreshrates going yet though).

My shiney new 42" LCD is about to arrive and so I am going to want to connect up my HTPC at exactly the resolution you are using. So, out of interest, how do you have your HTPC connected to your screen e.g. DVI-to-HDMI, Analog DSUB, S-Video etc?

I am using DVI to DVI. Nvidia classic driver interface, custom timings.

1:1 pixel is only possible AFAIK using DVI, HDMI, VGA or (possibily) component. S-video, composite and SCART (including rgb-scart) does not allow the resolution we are wanting.

Be warned that most TV manufacturers dont want their panel driven at 1:1 pixel! In the manual and www documentation, most manufacturers advice their customers to use a PC resolution of 1024x768! Philips has never released a LCD tv that will do 1:1 pixel, they are hard-wired to do scaling + cropping. Sony just allowed this in the very latest models. Pioneer only allows 1:1 pixel on VGA, not digital inputs (this is very common).

Currently the trend is "1080p" lcd tvs, but most available here in europe only have the interface bandwidth to handle 1080i at their inputs. Guess what value the PR departement is using in their ads...

Oh dear. Looks like I will just have to pretend thats a different Philips than the one that manufactured the TV I am getting ... :-(
