if you resume from hibernate and MyTV begins to stutter, what happens if you:

1. quit MediaPortal
2. start MediaPortal
3. go to MyTV
---Video: plays
---Audio: plays
---note: TV ok, only a small stutter in the first 2-3 seconds of play
4. turn off timeshift
---Video: plays
---Audio: plays
---note: TV ok, only a small stutter in the first 2-3 seconds of play
5. turn on timeshift
---Video: plays
---Audio: plays |
---note: TV ok, only a small stutter in the first 2-3 seconds of play
6. switch channel
---Video: plays
---Audio: plays
---note: TV ok, only a small stutter in the first 2-3 seconds of play

General note: if after resume I close and reopen mediaportal problem does not appears.
Additional info: when TV stutter also menu navigation is very slow until you stop TV. Restarting TV, change channel, change TS on or off does not solve the problem, only close and reopen mediaportal fix it. During stutter CPU is abot 5% and ram 350MB.

do you hibernate with running MyTV or on homescreen with no TV running in preview window?

If the restart of MediaPortal (not Windows!) fixes the stuttering of MyTV,
then this is a Bug in MediaPortal.

If it would be a driver issue the restart of MediaPortal wouldnt have a effect.

I hibernate in homescreen (manually or waiting the timeout set in power scheduler) and TV is closed (no preview).

Sorry, but what is mediaportal autostart? If you mean the additional plugin that you can found on mediaportal site, I don't use it.

About the test you ask these are the results:

    1. turn off mediaportal autostart (not used)
    2. re-start the PC
    3. start MediaPortal
    4. go to MyTV
    ---Video: playing
    ---Audio: playing
---note: all OK (except one small stutter after 3/4 seconds)
    5. quit MediaPortal
    6. manually hibernate the PC (start -> shut down -> hibernate)
    7. resume the PC from hibernate
    8. start MediaPortal
    9. go to MyTV
    ---Video: playing
    ---Audio: playing
---note: all OK (except one small stutter after 3/4 seconds)
    10. quit MediaPortal
    11. manually hibernate the PC (start -> shut down -> hibernate)
    12. resume the PC from hibernate
    13. start MediaPortal
    14. go to MyTV
    ---Video: playing
    ---Audio: playing
---note: all OK (except one small stutter after 3/4 seconds)

I added another test done by myself:

Preliminary note: I made this test 2 times, the first with timeshift on, the second with timeshift off.

    1. start the PC
    2. start MediaPortal and remain in main menu without start any module.
    3. hibernate the PC (start -> shut down -> hibernate)
    4. resume the PC from hibernate, MediaPortal show the main menu correctly.
    5. go to MyTV
    ---Video: stutter
    ---Audio: stutter
---note: problem appears immediately, no action solve it (stop TV, enable/disable TS) unless you close and reopen mediaportal.

One question for Igalan: do you have the my same problem as described in my second post of this tread:

    http://www.testteam-mediaportal.com/Joomla/forum/showthread.php?t=629

If yes probably the two issues are related.

    Ok, it was already disabled.
    okay.

so, after resume from hibernate TV is stuttering.
restart of MediaPortal fixes the issue.

Now we need confirmations for this behaviour and logs.

    1. Start MediaPortal Setup
    2. go to plugins -> powerscheduler
    3. turn on extensive logging
    4. start the TestTool -> run Step1
    5. restart the PC
    6. start MediaPortal
    7. wait until MediaPortal hibernates the PC
    8. resume from hibernate
    9. go to MyTV (this must be stuttering now)
    10. quit MediaPortal
11 export logs with the TestTool -> Step2
12.add a reply to this topic with logs attached

    ---note:
After closing and reopening MediaPortal, TV is back to normal. When the system hibernates or suspends, TV preview is off and MP is in the Home screen.

I'll enable extensive logging and post the logs later. Thanks for the interest on this issue.

varesino, your findings are interesting. If it stutters with other software, a driver bug would cause this behaviour, but then why only closing and reopening the program fixes the problem?
