re: after update "TV Setup" crash !

I have an idea - I was using the test build from morpheus of tv server to test the Tevii patch - I wonder if this confused the installer?
Was that a binary or a complete "installer" he provided?
    "Could" be a possible reason.

From memory, it was an archive containing a bunch of files which I extracted to the program files|tv server directory.

I installed RC3 on my test box and copied the TV Server files from there - working fine here now. I think it must have been down to that test build I was running.

    Maybe.

Question is if dirki1972 did use some testfiles as well.

Had a quick scan of posts by OP and seems they are using https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...something-recorded-vista-v1-1-released-39625/
This seems to hook into TVservice so could this be stopping upgrade???

Also guess this is unrelated but worth highlighting that event log has
    Code:

    Great finding!

It could be possible that this tool "looks" tvserver.exe, so it can not be replaced by the installer.
This would also explain why setuptv.exe (which should be 1.0.7.0) will crash.

AW: Re: AW: Re: after update "TV Setup" crash !

Thanks. Could you attach the logs that will be in the old logs folder inside TV service log folder (these should include the install of TV Server)

    ok.
    see the attached file

    regards dirk
Based on the log, the TvServer was installed nicely....

    Code:
    [ INFO] Installing TVService
    [ INFO] Finished Installing TVService

One wild guess: Do you use _any_ TV-Server plugins which were not part of the RC2 release?

I use the mini webserver plugin

    regards dirk

This one? MPWebServices - MediaPortal Forum

If not, post me the link please.

Yes thats right. This one. I allready deinstall that but , Server Configuration still not work.
Did you also use any of the testbinaires available in our forums like jonm did?
Or did you have a clean RC2 TV-Server installation?

In any case, you should manually uninstall the Tv-Server (normal uninstall - first option), and delete the entire TV-Server directory.
Then run the RC3 installer again to install it.
If you select "singleseat" then the installer will show you that MediaPortal RC3 is allready present and does not need to be installed - so no changes to MP itselfe will be done.
