I've actually been thinking about sth. like this when I saw it a couple of weeks ago, but.... Even though my wife thinks it's quite cool she doesn't want to have it in the living room, either.
For WAF problem about living room, this computer is perhaps for kitchen ? ;) ;) ;)

Problem is - we have an open kitchen that is connected to the living room. No solution there, pal

I have been thinking about a kitchenpc, though. Some little touch screen and a small unit to keep recepies and the grocery list... Ah, never mind ;-) We've been talking about that on the German Mediaportal Forum some time ago.

All things considered

Whether its cool or the next move in keeping your PC running cooler, theres just no reason to use such a setup in the home really!

In my thinking there are just to many thing to go wrong with it! I have an aqwuarium in a house with three other roommates and they cant keep they're crap off it it which leads to all kinds of things floating in the tank.

Second: consider whats entailed on working on your system for upgrades and such. Not saying that keeping your system in oil is all that bad, but do you really want to be dealing with cleaning up from working on your system that way on a regular basis. Most heavy end users do plenty of upgrades to ram motherboards and such pretty frequently.

Third: So if your place suddenly catches fire is it going to be easier to snatch a box and run or pull a board and parts out of dripping oil and run with it in a fire. :)

Sure if you have a stable clean environment where no one but you is dealing with it it sounds way cool.

I was just tinkering with a few settings in the MediaPortal configuration and am happy to have found the cause of the problem. Disabling the option "Single seat setup: force RTSP usage" under "TV/Radio", "Advanced Options" resolved the issue. After I disabled this option, I was able to delete the recordings the first time...

I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.

I am about to to upgrade my htpc where I use MP1. I wonder if it will run on an ARM based CPU with Win11 or just x64 and x86?
