Hi Peter,

Thanks for your instructions. I have TV Recordings 0.2 installed and it is great.

Your installation method was so simple and eliminated the worry about whether I was doing the correct thing.

I have to wonder why this way is not mentioned at Extensions-Plugins - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

When I clicked "Load Online List" I noticed that your plugin is listed twice (as TV Recordings and again as TV Recordings 0.2 which was a little confusing. Are you trying to promote your product by gaining more shelf-space? ;)

:D

I justed visited this page and I have to admit that I have seen it the very first time. Seems to be outdated anyway. But fortunately the installer is able to update its list which I find much better.

The second instance of TV Recordings in the list is version 0.1. I think I will delete it soon. On the other hand I like the idea of a shelf-space ;-)

    Hi,

    Hi,

I think a comskip plugin support will be usefull. Now the comskip runs every recordings but if I could setup to run or not run comskip after a record... :)

I'm not sure if I got your point: Do you want to choose individual for each schedule whether comskip should be executed?

Will you support this feature? ;)

I don't think that it is possible to build such a function as a plugin. The only way to build this would be to modify Mediaportal itself. On the other hand it would be possible to introduce a function to manually run comskip on a finished recording instead of selecting this for a schedule. Would this be sufficient to you?

TV Recordings with TV Server support

    Dear MP users,

I'm glad to announce that the TV Recordings plugin supports the TV Server now. It's optional now to use either the TV Server or the inbuilt tv engine with the TV Recordings GUI. In addition dvdfreak's Tv Scheduler (Rule-based TvScheduler service - MediaPortal Forum) might be used as an suggestion engine for upcoming tv programs as described in https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/plugins-47/tv-recordings-suggestions-34182/.

The version which is provided by this post is a PRE-RELEASE. Since I'm don't using the TV Server by myself I could have missed some bugs while testing this version. Therefore I would like to invite everybody to be a tester.

In order to run TV Recordings together with a "TV Server" / "TV Engine 3" you have to
    1. Install and configure the TV Server
    2. Install the TV Server's client plugin into your Mediaportal installation and make sure that it is working.
    3. Install the TV Recordings plugin
    4. Start the Configuration. Select Plugins -> TV Recordings -> Configuration. Check "Use TV Server" and enter the server's name.
    5. That's it

In order to run TV Recordings together with a "TV Scheduler" server you have to
    1. Make sure that .NET 3.0 is installed on your system
    2. Download and install the "TvScheduler Service" and the "Management Console" (Version 1.0.15.0)
    3. Copy these files from the "Management Console"'s installation directory into the MediaPortal installation directory: TvScheduler.ServiceAgents.dll, TvScheduler.ServiceContracts.dll, TvScheduler.Entities.dll
    4. Check "Use TV Scheduler" from the TV Recording plugin configuration dialog.
    5. Make sure that the channel names which are managed by TV Scheduler are exactly the same as the channel names of MediaPortal.
    6. That's it: Suggestions with are defined in the TV Scheduler are now listed by the TV Recording.

    Hi,
I can't select "Use TV Scheduler" in Mediaportal Configuration-> Plugins -> TV recordings.

TV Sheduler works fine so far. Is point 3 "copy dll's in Mediaportal direction" right?

yes, the three mentioned libraries need to be copied FROM the TvScheduler(Console) directory TO the MediaPortal directory. You might alternatively try to copy these DLLs to the MediaPortaL's plugin/windows/ directory. Does the logfile log/Configuration.log say "TvScheduler is NOT available"? Which version of the TvScheduler are you using?

    Thanks pkaul!
I allready tried to copy them into windows direction. Without success- i got error message, that ServiceAgents.dll is not the right version and wouldn't be loaded. and then I can't open configuration of TV Recordings.
I don't think that TV Recordings "recognices" the tvSheduler. I can't even check it, it's grey.
The version of TVSheduler is 1.0.15.0. And the logfile doesn't mention TvSheduler at all.
But it's not so important... I can wait!

Hi, I have just uploaded a new version (see above) which might solve the problem. Please let me know whether it works. Thanks.

    Greetings
