myhd does not use bda drivers. It's drivers are proprietary and it does not look like they will support what mp needs to work.

I use and have good luck with the dvico fusion 5 gold (I have an hdtivo so timeshifting is not a prioroty at this point) others use the ATI HDTV and at one point it did work with time shifting.

The dvico is a good card - for live TV it is solid under mp - I will caution you though.. the dvico software (not the drivers) sucks - works, but sucks none the less... check out avsforum.com for the dvico discussion..

I'd also like to know if this card works.

What are the USA based ATSC / OTA / Terrestrial people using that plays nice with Mediaportal?

What about the MyHD card?

Under the fusion card window in the mp configuration there is an autotune button - hit it and it will find your digital stations only - mp can not do ntsc with the dvico card

What is the difference between NTSC and digital stations?

Thanks for your help my card should arrive today.

You know somtimes I should just stop and read a bit slower. I know what NTSC is. I was just getting that confused with ATSC. There is no difference between digital and ATSC right? And that is what mp will be able to pull in with this card?

lol.. I do the same thing.. digital is atsc - in my case in Cincinnati, all the stations except 1 broadcast digital so its not an issue for me with mp

I have the Dvico Fusion 5 USB (atsc) card in the US (Iowa). Lately, I have been experimenting with both Mediaportal and Gbpvr.

Results with Gbpvr: I can schedule, record and playback HDTV on gbpvr. I CAN'T get live tv to work. very strange but it's a problem the fusion 5 usb owners are having with gbpvr.

Results with Mediaportal: When autotuning, mediaportal picks up all of my local OTA analog stations and ignores the 6 OTA digital/atsc broadcasts. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but there is not much out there yet for howtos with this card. In the card setup config screen, I notice there is an ATSC option in one of the pull down menus but when I select it and hit apply it never actually get's applied.

I'm curious on how USA fusion 5 / mediaportal users are autotuning the ATSC channels. I've got Dvico's 3.2 software working with Dvico's software. Actually their software has worked very well for live tv but is horrible for scheduling and recording.

I would first verify that live tv is smooth via the dvico drivers and fusion program - then install mp, configure it - if the dvico drivers are working, mp will find the fusion card. From the tv configuration, tell it to use the dvico zulu dxva driver for mpeg2 decoding. In the same page, you can either use the dvico ac3 decoder for audio or use the mpeg decoder included with media portal. Under the fusion card window in the mp configuration there is an autotune button - hit it and it will find your digital stations only - mp can not do ntsc with the dvico card

start it up verify live hdtv - then add the latest cvs and enjoy!

I followed these instructions to a T, but MP still doesn't find any channels. Do I need to setup the EPG first or something?? The Dvico software works fine and finds all the channels that are unencrypted over my cable line (a couple ESPNHD channels, a music video channel, and even a porn channel)

I own the Fusion 5 Lite and I am unable to get any channels on MediaPortal. When I autotune I can hear the sound for the channels that I should get but I can not see the picture. I have tried 2.0 and it will not autotune for me. I have the EPG working fine and my channels show up like they should.

I can get FusionHDTV to work, BeyondTV 4.0, and GB-PVR also will work but I can not get MediaPortal to work.

I have done a lot of reading to see what I should have for setting but have not found anything that so far has helped me out.

I got my card and installed it in a spare computer. that didn't work for hd. I realized the video card wasnt up to snuff so I just installed the card in my main desktop computer. The card installed fine and the FusionHDTV software worked great over my cable. It found like 600 channels (analog and digital). I was able to record and everything was great. So i decided to try mediaportal.

I scanned with the cable and MP wouldn't find anything. I scanned OTA and MP found about 16 channels (what I have signal for). when I go to watch any tv with MP the whole thing give an error and crashes. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and rescanning channels but no matter what i tried MP just crashed. I guess i'll just be using FusionHDTV for now because it gets the channels I need and more than I would have ever expected.

I did notice that DVICO's site has a MP add saying it is now supported. It will be great if QAM and analog is supported in MP because it does have a lot more options than FUSIONhdtv.

That's the complete opposite of the thread prior to this. Most folks get the digital not the analog. What gives???

This card seems to be a black hole. I don't understand how the wiki can state that the card is supported & yet not one person has chimed into this thread to state 'no no you knuckle heads, do this, this & this' One of you folks should remove all mention of the Fusion cards from the wiki if poosible. It's misleading to noobs like myself who wish to use media portal, but cannot get that warm & fuzzy feeling about atsc hardware. Because it's nothing but horror stories... from what I've read..
