Thanks Coennie.

I'm making progress with Splug.dll; i did a quick install of MP + Splug on another pc; Splug.dll worked fine. So, a full reinstall of my HTPC is in order.

Hi,

I just found this thread and tried the mdapi way using Exista's instructions with Anysee E30 C plus.
Everything went as in the TODO blog post, but still I am not sure what should have happened in MP.
- I see the mdplugin icons on the taskbar.
- TVserver is running fine with FTA channels. Currently I don't own a card so I can't test it.

I see an error in MP TV server logs:
Code:

What does that error mean? Is the conax reader now working or not? How do I know?

Cheers!

I have no idea, i haven't seen this error before. Maybe this error stems from the fact that you didn't insert a decrypting card.

The Mdapi plugin icon should appear in the system tray when watching scrambled channels, so everythig seems to be working except for the error.

Thanks for the reply. BTW, I am using MP 1.0.2 with XP.

Except for the error in the logs, everything seems to be in order. TV server is running fine and the card is working with FTA channels. If I only had a Conax card to test with... I am not sure I want to make a 1 year subscription deal with the operator just to test this. I have to ask if some of my friends would lend me a card for testing.

AW: Anysee 30 Plus support (descramble)

this is NO error! the function checks if the object is available (it's not in XP).

the error logging is suppressed in current versions. so don't care about this special error message

    Hi all,

    Have a strange problem....

Managed to get the MDAPIFilter/splug.dll stuff working to some extent quite easy.

Anysee E30 C Plus, swedish cable provider Comhem, tested beta 1 and svn 26449. I have access to the card since i can watch channels that don't require a subscription but still needs a card to work, (i e SVTHD). Removing the card and i cannot watch this channel. But i still can't watch channels that i have a valid subscription for. Tested both the real DVB-C card and the "virtual DVB-T MCE DVB-C workaround card" with the same result.
Same issue on Win7 and XP.

Using the crappy software that comes with the tuner everything works fine, except the fact that the pic quality is shite...
Have quite some experience with media centers but beeing a noob when it comes to using it for watching TV.... Am i missing something obvious here?

Not at home atm so i can't post any logs right now.

Any ideas or help would be much appreciated!

Keep up the good work guys :D

    Regards

    Lengis

Are you trying to watch crypted HD channels? Do swedish cable providers require card-linking?

At least here in Finland, all crypted HD channels require that the card and rest of equipment is linked so that it is impossible to store the content in decrypted form. This basically means that all pay-per-view HD channels will never work on MP or any other computer based system. I am not sure, but viewing SD channels should still be possible.

Sorry, I can't provide you with any clear answers, because I'd like to know these things myself also.

    Crabstick:

Just trying to get the SD stuff to work, but SVTHD is "kind of FTA" as long as you have a valid card. No subscription needed.

I'm well aware of the crappy pairing stuff, on that Comhem really sucks big time

Because of this it seems kind of useless to subscribe to any HD channels for a geek like me...

My thoughts exactly! But it's not the cable operator's fault. The pairing is a requirement from the media companies, as they believe it harms their business if the content is not copy protected all the way. I think the media companies will shoot themselves in the foot with this card pairing stuff. Currently they are not getting a dime from me, since it is impossible to watch any of it. And until there is something really worth paying for, I don't care. Currently YLE is broadcasting the olympics in HD (FTA) and I have to say the quality is amazing! And it doesn't even cost anything.

    Cheers,

Hi all, im have a horrible time with the MDAPIFilter/splug.dll method. I found a dutch guide but that install script has some serious errors in it, in case you run windows 7. I think i got it working adding some double quots in the script but i cant receive scrambled channels. I also tried the COM5 but that didnt work either, its just waiting.

Also on top of this, it gives me random errors Not able to play: LIVE3-0.TS.TSBUFFER

    Im running windows 7/x64
    Cable company Ziggo

The Free channel i get with no problems.

    Can someone help me?
