vbox dta-151

Hi,

I haven't visited this forum in a while but now I see there's been good progress for ATSC card support. I have a Vbox dta-151 which is basically the exact same card as the 150. I read you have the 150 working. That's great.

I installed the latest MP test version and the latest build.

I tried to follow the suggestions through this topic but have had no luck. I keep getting the "no graph" error. I have EPG turned off. I have compared the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file for the 2 cards and they are exactly the same.

Any suggestions?

I'll need your device moniker and your graphedit output. I could also use some logfiles from you.

Your graphedit will be much simpler, similar to this one for the a180:

    Don't forget your device moniker.

Also see the sesction here: https://www.team-mediaportal.com/dokuw/install/capturecards/start?rev=1133780040

about adding DVB cards with BDA drivers, it's basically the same for ATSC cards.

    dta-151 update

On a whim, I removed the "-ATSC" from the tuner card name in the definitions.xml file. The Autotune was then available and I was able to finally watch TV with MP.

However, there still are some problems. I can't expand the window size to watch full-screen without MP hanging. It only displays in the minimized window.

Also, any HD channel has major blanking and audio skipping. While the normal DT channels seem to display fine.

Time shifting doesn't seem to do anything whatsoever.

I got it to work on the MP April 8 SVN. I found that some of the display issues were due to not using a good MPEG decoder. Once I switched NVidia Pure Video things seems to get alot better.

    Still 2 issues.
    1. Can't seem to get the proper info from XMLTV and have it merge with the channel info that MP is using to tune. The channel names are different between the two.

    2. Can't seem to get the Svideo capture recognized in MP. Want to pipe in my Dish Network signal to have MP record that as well.

The xmlTV issue is a tough one at the moment. Merging via the 'Combine" function doesn't seem to work well.

The current workaround is to name all of the channels that MP detects to the exact same name that your xmltv uses. It's a PITA, I know, but you only have to do it once.

Regarding the S-Video input, we'll have to take this up with DMan, because I'm not sure how that works.

Thanks, the renaming of the channel names with the names found in the xmltv data worked.

How do I take you up on your recommendation to troubleshoot svhs input? Who's DMan?

I'll check it out tonight. But even so, the dta-150 and dta-151 both have individual entries in the definitions.xml file. It shouldn't really be changing your dta-150 info, should it?

Both cards use the same driver.

I can manually edit the capturecarddefinitions.xml file for myself when I get new SVN, its not a big deal, but with the recent drivers, it appears that an entry changes from (DTF8600) to (DTF8600 - ATSC).

Since it's not a hardware revision, we cannot have both entries in the capturecarddefinitions.xml file because the VENID are the same. So we are concerned that you may be using an older driver, and if we make the capturecarddefintions.xml file work for you then it will break it for everyone else using that card with a recent driver.
