You perhaps need to uninstall mediaportal & tvserver (standard uninstall), rename program & data Team mediaportal directory, reinstall the Beta 1.1.0 Beta 1 and update with the SVN 23908. Sometime, it's better to start from zero. I don't have any problem with the last beta (exept with some codecs on HD TV).

i still have the audio sync issue with latest svn (20-10) in 24 hz mode
did someone already get it fixed ?

I don't use 24Hz a.t.m. but instead I use 50Hz... After a while it did run out of sync as well, watched an episode or 2 and noticed that it goes out of sync after playing the movie for a while... So I'm also back where I started. :(

I just watched a 24hz movie using the latest SVN without any sync issues! This is a first for me! Thank you all for the hard work documenting and fixing this issue. It looks like there might still be some people with problems but this is a major improvement for me.

I have sync issues using the latest svn and previously the standard beta of MP.

My Samsung F86 is set at 24hz via ATI ccc and when i play back a dvd or avi file in MP i get a noticeable audio delay.

Video motion is fine which was something i previously had a problem with until using the automatic refresh rate changer and having my ATI 4670 use hardware de-interlacing.

I recent re-installed MP and all my codecs to clean things up and start from scratch but unfortunately am still having no luck.

The video codec is the included MPC one which is giving smooth playback on DVD and avi files.

Audio codec is ac3filter set to pass through the audio via spdif to my amp. The soundcard is an inbuilt Realtek one.

I've been searching for help on this forum and other places for days now but nothing seems to solve my issue, although i do have no audio problems playing dvds at 24hz using Powerdvd which is a saving grace.

I'm new to this and previously used XBMC on a modded Xbox or Playstation Media Server on my PC to transcode files but wanted to have an all in one system capable to handling HD content and building up an organised library of my music. At the moment however this audio sync issue is rendering my HTPC unusable as i cannot sit back and enjoy videos i used to watch on other hardware without problems

Bailz: Just to make things clear, does your a/v sync get progressively worse as a video plays or do you have the same amount of delay all the way through?

It's there initially, i haven't really watched anything at length as the initial occurrence is annoying enough :p

I did default to 60hz in MP and that rectifies the problem in some cases but i've noticed dvd's don't tend to change rr in the auto refresh rate changer so that brings up motion problems of it's own during playback

Someone pointed me to an AMD optimiser driver that might help so i'll try that and see what happens.

OK, I also have a certain amount of constant unsync, which differs for different types of video material. This is quite easily remedied though, for example ffdshow lets you set profiles for different media types, where in turn you can set different amounts of delay. AC3Filter lets you do this as well, but if you only use AC3Filter then all media will get the same delay (and that's not what you want if your system is behaving like mine).

I haven't seen any solutions to this "problem, and there's not much mention of it.

I have just reinstalled front end with latest SVN on windows 7. Refresh changer works however playback of Star Trek (2009) was choppy in full screen. In windowed mode it was not choppy. I used Task Manager thinking that perhaps DXVA was broken and that my e5500 was maxed out. It was mostly around 80%.

This is using the Moving Pictures plugin.

Then I noticed mtn.exe was using some 40% cpu usage and and that there seemed to be more than one instance. When I killed it playback became smooth in full screen.

I have noticed that there was no thumbnail for Star Trek.

A quick google of MTN.exe shows that it generates thumbnails from video content. Could this be the problem?

Edit

Actually it seems the problem is not related to the above file. If I change focus away from MP when the refresh change happens it stops. I think someone has already mentioned that.

Ok just to add more info. When I do start in 24p i get stutter on star trek (2009) however stealth which is h264 does not.

I started star trek.. stopped it and then checked the refresh rate in Nvidia control panel. While the tv went to 24 hz the nvidia control panel showed 23HZ. I suspect this may be the problem will investigate further.

Will try to delete 23hz from the nvidia

23,976 Hz is most likely the correct refresh rate to play that clip. Nvidia reports it as 23 and tv 24. So, quite common way to confuse users. Why cannot those two show the exact refresh rates? :)
