Hm.. what audio renderer and audio codec are you using? You're using bitstream passthrough?

    Audio renderer: Default DirectSound

    Audio Decoders :
    MPEG/AC3: AC3Filter
    AAC - MPC-MPA Decoder

No bitstream passthrough - using Analog 5.1 from onboard RT "HD" Audio

Sorry if this solution is already given. (i dont feel like going through all the posts)

    I had the following problem:
    - My HD movie files played with micro stuttering but with great audio. (1920x1080@60hz)
    - HDTV great picture, some audio delay. (1920x1080@60hz)

Used auto refresh changer to change to 24hz for HD movies and 50hz for TV and SD movies. This worked fine. Stutter in HD movies gone. But now audio delay.

Tried everything and found one simple solution: Disable 'Motion Plus' on my Led TV (samsung). I guess other brands have similar settings.
My HD movies now play fine both with 24hz and 60hz. Audio delay on HD tv stayed unfort.

What is the latest situation with this problem?

I have been having lots of problems with mkv files that my system detects as 23.976 hz and have changed the 23.976 hz frame rate setting in refreshchanger to 23.976 hz display output frequency instead of 24 hz.

This seems to have worked well for 90% of my content, but the odd film still has lip-sync problems.

Has this issue been confirmed as a bug or what?

    Thanks

Think so, they are gone for me after upgrading to win7.

After a bit more fiddling, it seems that one problem with setting the refresh rate to 23.976 hz creates other problems with the system stuttering (which I hadn't noticed with my previous short tests). I played around with the video renderer settings (keeping 23.976 hz) and found that removing the tick from the "Use nonsquare for scaling (recommended for quality)" option improved things significantly.

Now my system is much smoother (although still not 100% perfect - but pretty much there) and as far as I can tell I do not have audio sync issues with any media (even the files that were "broken" by the change to 23.976 hz discussed a couple of posts ago).

So, in summary - setting 23.976 hz refresh fixes audio sync issues for most mkv videos, but is very stuttery at times, and a few films are still out of audio sync, disabling the nonsquare scaling rendering then stops the stuttering and makes the rest of the videos work.

Is this a coincidence, or is this a possible work-around solution for other users with this problem?

AW: Audio sync problems when screen set to 24 Hz

I also found that disabling the subtitle engine and modifying the defaults of the subtitle engine gets rid of all my dropped frames / stutters. Maybe worth a try :)
