Right I have uploaded V4 which is only a small tweak to the auto DJ code.
This will now attempt to keep a stock of songs in reserve. It attempts to keep a buffer of five songs all the time.

Also added a poll. This is only about last.fm scrobbling not the auto DJ code.

What I want is people to confirm this is working and then I will start to incorporate this into the main MP code rather than adding this as a plugin.

I'm already using your testversion on my stable setup since i love it.
I'll disable the Auto DJ and test this version.

    ** EDIT **
@jameson_uk Seems to work very well :p

@jameson_uk, Auto DJ stopped working, Scrobbling still works.

Isn't the Auto DJ mode supposed to work without last.fm access?

It needs to access last.fm but does not need a last.fm account (which obviously scrobbling does)

Looks like their servers are dead try the example on http://www.last.fm/api/show/track.getSimilar

Other than logged errors and no tracks added to playlist were there any issues?

    OK, TNX!

Nope, no issues, it just didn't add songs to the playlist, so it got cut of after that 1 song.

@jameson_uk : I'm actually still using MP1.2.1. I wanna give a try to AutoDJ without using my LastFM account. Have I to upgrade to MP1.2.3 to make the test?

Is the AutoDJ mode already included into MP1.3.0 Alpha?

    Thanks!

Not sure. I think it should work on 1.2.1

I'd love to be able to group several subgenres into main genres. If I select Genres today, for my hip-hop collection I get rap, west coast, hip hop, hip-hop, hip-hop rap, etc and I'd love to just skip all that and group them all in a Hip-Hop genre group. Same goes for any genre that has way too many different sub genres.
