I'm using 4TR too without any problems - if you add the attached files to the Avalon-Media folder you will get the "record series/conflict/cancelled" etc. icons in the TV Guide and Upcoming Recordings screens.

EDIT: @ Skin Devs - it would be good if these files were included in the next release

Thanks Mbuzina, do you mean the cache in config-gui-thumnails, then I choose to 'clear TV/Video thumbs' ?

Just some thoughts:

Really love the skin so far. Looks great. Can't wait for all the features to be added such as top bar and online videos working etc. Having used your TV section especially the EPG and the first screen which helpfully splits the categories into two so they're readable; I don't think I'll be able to use another skin anymore. It's beautiful.

I think the movies section is great too, at the same time, the top bar is superfluous, and hides a lot of the fanart under an (arguably) unnecessary blue bar with the words home and menu on it - so if it can be removed, that would be good.

You could also say that in the coverflow view, the same applies to the top bar, and the only information you need at the bottom is the name of the movie. You can get to the rest of the info with a single click, and the picture says more imo. The blue gradient at the bottom is great to tie it in to the rest of the skin, and all you need to acheive that goal. This is probably a long term goal or option I guess as it still looks prety good.


When you click through to the movie details the first tab is called 'start / overview'. It should lose the forward slash and become 'Overview'. Also if you have a separate tab as you do for description, there's no need to repeat the description in the 'overview' tab, as it is aesthetically less pleasant and reassuring experience.

Also, I'd like the option to turn off watched / unwatched labels wherever these appear please (even though they're done beautifully!) e.g. tv series, as for me the information is often wrong and seems to get in the way of the experience. And I'd rather not see the message 'fanart scraping' as whether I do or not, it doesn't affect or influence any choice or decision I have to make.

I was just thinking about the movie details tabs again, I can see the advantage of having a larger font description in the second tab i.e. how it is currently. Or what a swapping the first and second tabs over so the description is the first tab you see? Just thinking aloud really, I don't have any strong conviction. It's very good already.

By the way, I changed my online videos title to just be 'Online' from myonlinevids or something like that

For anyone using 4TR

If set to big icon list view, Avalon does not support this view yet, so you will not see any files, you need to change the view to another one in defaultwide and then revert back to Avalon, sadly this only works properly after changing skin\view in GUI, then exiting, change back to Avalon in config, save and restart MP.

Goodmane1980 Exit MP, delete the contents of the folder C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache (on a default installation on Win 7), restart.

attached are modified files to show the weather on BasicHome and header by using the WorldWeather plugin.

Files for the plugin itself will be available later...

ncoH: Thanks for the VERY quick response! Impressive. Is there any chance that we can get weather "fanart" in the future? The WorldWeather Plugin publishes a property named #WorldWeather.TodayIconImage and #WorldWeather.TodayIconNumber which allow the skin to show current conditions as a backdrop.

I will test the update in a few minutes.

There seems to be a slight positioning issue with the updated BasicHome.weather.xml. See the attached screenshot.

Also I am not sure why I see the night icon and not the day icon (I set the time zone correct for WorldWeather)

Yep, right place now. But still a night icon (moon). It should be the sun. Any idea?
