The list of "to-do's" is getting bigger...
Dave

I really appreciate all the hard work.
So try to get some time for yourself, especially these days :)

Cheers Albert - yeah I'll cut back on playing around with this thing for a while but before I do that...

Here's an update for TVSeries :) It now shows 15 banners :D and the "greying out/no focus" problem when switching views is fixed (on my system anyway). Plus I've made the "TVSeries" logo smaller/less obtrusive:

Save the attached file into the Bleazle folder (overwrite TVSeries.xml - no need to delete the cache ), launch MP and check it out.

One thing I've noticed is that if you have a line of banners which isn't full (eg. if you had 16 or 17 series banners) if you're scrolling down the right hand column the "in focus" box will jump to the banner at the top of that row when you try to scroll past banner number 15 instead of "rolling down" to number 16 on the next (incomplete) row. I'm sure it's a plugin problem, not a skin issue but I thought I'd point this out just in case anyone tries scrolling down and can't find a series that you know is there.

Tonight (here in Holland) I will try to find some time to dig into the skin system.
I can read XML, but find it hard to locate the proper controls.
So I hope to figure out some of the wishes I have myself (display time instead of size etc) and let you know.

One problem I'm still having: cannot start a movie from a different view (actor, year, genre whatever).
This is probably not a skinproblem, but I'm curious if you have the same problem?

Hi Albert

I take it you're talking about playing movies from the My Films plugin? If you are I can't test this because all of the movies I have referenced in My Films are on disc, not Harddrive. It doesn't dound like a skin issue to me though - the easiest way for you to check is to try it in Blue3 ( :D ) and see what happens. The result should be the same as you get in the Bleazle skin.

If you're talking about My Videos with regard to playtime I can't see how you can get that info directly from a file. Say for example you downloaded 2 copies of the same movie from the internet and one copy was 1gb and the other copy was 800mb - as far as I can tell MP has no way of knowing that the playtime is the same which is why you need to use something like the Movie Collector software to get this info online and then show it in My Films.

If you're talking about downloaded movies (or movies ripped to your HDD) use the MovingPictures plugin - it's much better than MyFilms for movies that are available on your HDD.

Either way, all the best with it :)

Hi Dave, great work with the updates, loving the skin.

im playing around with TVseries thoughand i seem to be having a few issues with it. For some reason the text in some of the boxes is spilling over, and the text seems a lot larger than on your screenshots. Any suggestions?

Dave

I'm talking about the standard My Videos here. I am digging in it, but can't seem to find how the listcontrol is build up.
Anyway, why couldn't one get the playtime in the main window? I'm using a big HDD indeed for storing my collection of movies. Size is ofcourse always available, but I always right-click 'em to get IMDB info. In this info there you have your playtime. Ofcourse this is only valid for full-length cinema movies. Would be nice if it was conditional: if length is stored, display it, else display size.

You see, in normal list mode (shared view) the size of the movie (stored on HDD) is displayed.

However, when I switch to genre view, the length is displayed!

And I want that info on my main screen also  :D

Just because me and my wife sit on the couch after stuffing all those kids into bed, thinking: let's watch a movie!
"Hey, it's already 10:15PM, let's not do a 2.5 hour movie." To find out what's a reasonable playtime, I either have to right-click each movie and show IMDB info OR switch to Genre view and see everything I want (including descriptions etc). But there I have the problem of teh items not being clickable

I don't want to push you to test this, but if you want, why not store some simple movies on a HDD, give them a cinema-movie-name, add this folder to your moviefolders, run IMDB collection on it and see what happens.

Bye Albert

WOW! That's a whole area of MP I hadn't used/didn't even know existed  :D NOW I know what you mean!!! :D

I've had a quick play with it and I still think Moving Pictures is better/quicker but I'll look into it a bit further in the new year.

Next year is fine by me, I can wait ;)
Just installed Moving Pictures, looks damn fine to me. However, I am satisfied with the standard and much simpler interface of My Movies
I'll fiddle a bit with Moving Pictures though, thanks

Merry Christmas & Happy Newyear in advance

Not sure mate - maybe a resolution setting? I noticed on the screenshot that you posted on the first page of this thread that your text was large then too. Have you tired changing you screen resolution?

yeah could be, ill have a play around with the resolution later.

i installed RC4 for the first time at home last night so got to have a proper play around with the skin for the first time with a tv card etc, and the skin looks great :D

there were a few things that i noticed that are a bit buggy tho, but could be a blue2 issue rather than your skin...

1. In MyTV, theres no preview screen in the bottom left hand corner (bear in mind i use inbuilt TV though as i cant get tv engine working)
16978.jpg

2. In MyRadio, the text in the guide is blacked out (except the stuff currently playing)
16979.jpg

In Recorded TV, the currently playing preview screen is splashed over the top of the recordings list.

just thought id bring these to your attention, no rush to get them fixed as youve clearly been working loads on this skin, just the odd thing that need ironing out now and then itll be working perfectly.

cheers again. :)
