... I think I must have been confused as to how the big icons would look. Never mind if that is how they should be...

It would be nice have a brief description down the bottom in the case that the person doesn't know much about the movie.

OK, I've got you now. Yes, you're confused, but don't worry because it's my fault

What you're looking at there is the My Films plugin. What you see as far as movie info is concerned is controlled by the plugin & whatever programme you use to download the information the plugin displays (I use "Movie Collector"), not by the skin. You will see movie descriptions if your software has downloaded it, as highlighted below:

I've probably confused things by giving the page a "Videos" title - I hate anything with "My" - e.g. "My TV" etc and "Videos" just made sense to me but since there is a (My) Videos section in MP maybe it should be called DVD's or Movies or something (I don't like "Films") so if anyone has a preference let me know and if I agree I'll change it or at least give you another title graphic so you have the option )

I think it would be nice also, although I only use list view. Below the box preview is plenty of space for a scrolling description (which now lists redundant info like the title of the movie). Now, I have to rightclick and choose IMDB to view the description, which is not handy. I missed this in almost every skin.
When I change the view to say Genre or something, all of a sudden, the info is reported though, but then the mobie is not clickable/startable anymore, is this my problem alone?

Also, in list view I would like the duration of the movie in the list row, where it now reports the size (funny Dave, why not on yours?? https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...elease-picture135-14-12-2008-12-34-19-p-m.jpg )
I couldn't care about the size within MediaPortal, being a 4.5 or 4.7Gb, What I would like to see is 148min or 2:28 or something. I guess it needs IMDB info then, and you simply don't have that available for homevideos. But anyway, if it's possible, I would really appreciate it!

Sure got that right, I also hate "My".
Videos is quite confusing indeed. For me, DVD's is ok, but I also have HD content BR-dumps. Movies would be best for you I guess. I have MP localized and seeing it that way, I think Films is the best choice for many languages!

To be honest I don't use the My Films plugin very often (pretty much never) so trying to work out how to do this won't make it to the top of the priority list for a while. If you know of a skin that already has this enabled let me know and I'll check it out - it's far easier & quicker to copy and tweak than to try to work it out!

Just to be clear - that image you've linked to is a screenshot of a Folder image showing in the DVD case (i.e you have to open the folder to play the movie) in MY VIDEOS. If it had been a video the file size would have been listed but the image would've just been a thumbnail, not a DVD cover image. I agree that playtime is more important so if you've seen a skin that supports this let me know and I'll take a look at how it's done.

To be honest I hadn't even thought about that - I put this skin together for myself and only decided to make it available once I realised that other people might want the same sort of look. I never imagined that someone on the other side of the world would end up using it!

I prefer "Videos" but I can easily make up a "Films" graphic and include it in the next upload so people can choose which one they prefer.

Sorted! (for you guys that follow this thread anyway..)

I'll add a "Your Choice" folder to the next version so that you have the option of choosing the logo title you want. But who wants to wait until after Christmas right? So here are the choices Just save the logo you want to the Bleazle\Media folder and call it myfilms_logo.png - overwrite the existing file - default will be "movies" (that's all you'll have to do in the next version)

I had to change the name of the logo file in the XML file so for now you'll also need to save the attached XML files to the Bleazle folder (overwrite the existing files) and that's it, done!

Don't forget to delete the Bleazle folder from the skin cache...

I've had a bit more of a look at the layout of My Films especially in Big Icon view and I've got to agree that it's not great (it's the same layout as Blue3, and Blue3 wide is no better really). Next time I'm doing some tweaking I'll work on having the runtime show in all views, plus have the DVD covers in a DVD case like they are in the My Videos section (and sort out the aspect ratio so that you see all of the cover too..) That won't be until the new year though...

When copying the ForTheRecord skin files from Blue3 into Bleazle folder, it seems to be working. All the graphic is there and it seems to be in the right place. So it looks like it can be used with FTR.

Excellent, thanks for the update! If you post the XML files required for FTR here I'll add the logo animations to them and re-post them for you.

Sounds like some good changes are coming Bleazle and I am looking forward to the next version.

The cover changes sound great and a small description would even be better !

I might try that plugin you mentioned, if you cant add it nativley.

is anyone else having problems getting to the page up/page down buttons on the bottom right of the my tv series plugin when using this skin?

When I move the cursor there the entire screen gets that greyed shade overlaying the series currently displayed.

Using the scroll bar on the mouse moves thru the pages no problem

Yeah I'm not sure what's happening there - you can't select them. Also I've noticed that if you shift right to go to the next screen it is often "greyed out" too (clicking the "up" arrow sorts that out). I've just checked the monochrome skin and you can't select the spin control arrows in that skin either.

I tried to get rid of the spin arrows altogether when I put this together since they don't seem to be of any use but I couldn't get them to disappear (it looks like they're "placed" by the "reference.XML" file which if I change that will have a skin wide effect). The greying out isn't a major issue but it's less than perfect so I'll have a look at it when I get a chance

The list of "to-do's" is getting bigger...

I've just added support ("Bleazled" logos & animation) for My Burner & My Alarm so that will be in the next release too.

The next release won't be until the new year.
