Great - looks good. There is a way you could get around the "Artist - Album" thing - you could rename every folder to say "Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA" etc, then just use Shares view?
not renaming 60 GB of folders!!!:eek:
I can live with no artist info....if I must ;)

The blue dialogue looks good!

    Off Topic:

Here's how to use Directory Opus to search inside files:

The easiest way to do it is to have the directory open that you want to search (in the case below, BleazleWide)

    1. Click tools -> Find Panel
    2. Enter the text you want to search for in the "Containing text:" box
    3. Select "search inside subfolders" if required
    4. Click "Find"

You can search multiple directories at once if required but you probably already know how to do that..

    Bleazle,

Thanks allot this will be a great help!

I like the dual pane, sync option, convert image, search and so on that these programs offer and can't believe Windows Explorer has not evolved more than it has over time.

I hear what you're saying about going from PSP to Photoshop - I thought the same thing when I first started using Photoshop.

I remember one of the first things I wanted to do with Photoshop was to replace a color with another color something I can do in PSP with a couple clicks. I looked in the help files and did a search on the web and found a half page instruction on how to do this.

Great skin, finally my HTPC is beginning to get that professional look :) The only thing missing for me is a splashscreen that matches. I can help you with that if you want. For now I changed the size and color of the splashscreen font and added the MPlogo, but I could do more.

Sounds look a good idea to me too - especially if I don't have to make it! :D Look forward to seeing what you come up with...

The Easiest Way to Access your HTPC online

    Hi All,

I've just posted this on the ForTheRecord website but I figured I'd post it here too because it might be of interest to some of you:

"...after spending hours and hours trying to access ForTheRecord over the Internet I gave up on it a few months ago  My setup of HTPC-> Wireless router -> Modem made it impossible to connect to my HTPC, even after follwoing some very clear and straightforward tutorials with regard to bridging connections etc etc :( (just to be clear, ForTheRecord wasn't at fault here, it was all of the built in Firewalls etc making things unworkable!)

Anyway, today I decided to have another go at working this thing out and came across this great program: TeamViewer - Free Remote Access and Remote Desktop Sharing over the Internet - check the website out, it explains everything, but basically it allows you to access your HTPC (or any PC) from anywhere and best of all its free and only took me about two minutes to set up and that includes the download time! Really, it's that easy!

Having found this solution I wouldn't even bother trying to get around firewalls etc to set up online access to ForTheRecord - why bother when this piece of software gives you access to your whole computer? :)

    enjoy,

    Bleazle"

    Hi Bleazle,
I can confirm the easy usage and value of teamviewer.
I use it since a few months to administrate and "repair" the Computers of the whole family (mother, father, sister) who all live between 300 and 450 km away from me. All of them certainly use (or should I say "are addicted to") Computers, none of them knows much about how it works. ;)

Teamviewer saved them and me a lot of time and trouble. I even got rid of a backdoor trojan my mother caught in a chatroom. She was completely hysteric, because her PC suddenly did such strange things (reboot, disconnect, showed strange messages on screen). PC broken = total apocalypse!

All I needed was teamviewer and I was able to scan and clean her Computer remotely. It took some time, several reboots and reconnects, but at the end my mother's son was a big hero for that day :)
