hey Steve.. so you installed the card after you already had MP installed? if that's the case I'd suggest a reinstall (at least that's what I'd do), so you may as well do the upgrade to 1.10.. I prefer it, but can't remember exactly why heh.
I did the upgrade a few weeks ago and used the instructions at:
    UpdateingMediaPortal - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

    it was pretty painless.

    happy upgrading
    :)

+ I recommend using the Backup Settings plugin, it's easy to use and it's a real time saver plus it means your picture thumbs etc won't have to be re-created which is a real pain in the butt if you've got lots of pics and haven't backed them up manually (and now there's no need to do that..)

    Hey everyone,

Thought i would post a big thank you to everyone on here for the help recently, following all the advice i have upgraded to the latest MP 1.1.0.0 version successfully and also installed the recommended Hauppage TV card and everything seems to be going really well.

But it would be silly of me to sit here writing to you guys without just one or two quick questions.

    1. Which codecs do i choose for the best TV?
    2. I am getting alot of gaps in the epg, any tips on the settings to enable regular grabbing.
    3. I have read something about logos for NZ channels, could you tell me how i can get them and load them.

    big thanks again.

    Hi KJ,

Thanks i will sort that out,

HTPC survived ok, but the Samsing LCD came very close. it survived the big quake on our bedroom cabinet, but one of the aftershocks mid week (5.1) nearly took it in one go, very close.

I hope you weren't too badly off, we were very lucky (Cashmere)

    thanks again.

I live in Ilam, nothing fell over, nothing broke, everything in the house was in the exact same position after the quake (Even small items in the cupboards and bathrooms didn't even move) ...

    Crazy

My parents house (about 2 min drive away) was the opposite, quite a few things fell over and broke, the hot water cylinder inlet pipe broke and flooded the house (they were on holiday) and the chimney broke.

On a different topic, I saw advertised on Prime that they were broadcasting the Commonwealth Games in HD. I can't find any info to confirm if this is on Freeview or only Sky's satellite. I hope they do switch permanently to HD on Freeview.

Prime are showing the CG's, not sure if HD though?

    Steve

I have just downloaded SAFv5, and i am awaiting instructions for the unlocked version?

How do i make sure i have removed all of the old codecs before i install SAF??, as instructed, i have taken off arcsoft and K-Lite progs but i have VLC player and Hauppage have own installed codecs, do i need to get rid of these first and how do i know if that is all of them??

Glad your house ok, sorry to here about your parents, no rhyme or reason to the devastation really!!

    regards

    Steve

Not sure if this affects anyone on here but i have just had a letter from Telstra announcing new price structures in light of the GST increase, get this....

My product is going from 10Mbps to 15Mbps !!!

My download limit from 20 Gb to 40 Gb

And the monthly fee DOWN (YEP DOWN) $9 a month....from $106 tp $97

Way too go Telstra....aother packages have faired well as well, but the one i am on has the most benefit.

The slowest speed of 4Mbps is scarpped, the new low will be 15Mbps

All this starts on October 1st......
