    Hi rlevis

There are only 2 runs of RG6 in the new house, so I was thinking LNB1 + UHF combined on the roof on one coax and LNB2 + FM on the other using 2 combiners I've seen which handle both UHF or VHF + Satellite.

Or should perhaps UHF+VHF+LNB1 be on one of coax, and just LNB2 on the other? I haven't found a combiner that will to all 3 yet. I think this would need a UHF/VHF diplexer first, and then feed this into another diplexer which handles UHF/VHF plus satellite.
I'd definitely advise combining the UHF and VHF first. Depending what satellites and channels you're after (by your references to LNB1 and LNB2 I've assumed you're not just trying to receive only one satellite) you might want to go with something like -->this<-- as a second step so that each satellite receiver/tuner can see both satellites. The limit with that particular item is that you can only get one polarity from each satellite. Better would be a full blown multiswitch but those are a little more expensive.

Obviously a DiSEqC will be required for the 2 LNB's. I believe the BTG3600 should handle DiSEqC ok.
You're mistaken there as far as I'm aware. Check the supported card page in our wiki - it explicitly says we don't yet support DiSEqC for Blackgold tuners. I have what is effectively a BGT3540 and DiSEqC does not work with vanilla MP 1.2.x. I don't think the 3600 would be any different.

Is a splitter required to split the UHF/FM and satellite signals from the coax before the 2 satellite coaxes hit the DiSEqC switch? Or doesn't matter which way around this occurs?
I guess the question is where do you intend to put the splitters that feed the sink devices because you've said you've got at least four devices to feed but only two coax cables. Even considering the satellite feeds you would need more than just a basic DiSEqC switch to be able to feed both satellites to more than one satellite receiver/tuner. Each DiSEqC switch can only feed one independent receiver/tuner, and they need their own feeds from each satellite. In other words, to feed two satellites to two independent satellite receivers with a DiSEqC switch (not multiswitch) you'd need four cables and two DiSEqC switches.

The FM component seems to make this somewhat more complicated. Somewhere the UHF & FM signals need to be combined into the same coax. Not sure if this should be done on the roof or in the house.
UHF + FM is relatively simple once it is combined because you can split it to as many receivers as you like (within the limits of SNR). That is not true of satellite of course. I'd combine the UHF and FM on the roof.

    Thanks for your help mm.

A new issue. Just purhcased a new LG TV and due to processing in the TV, the video is around half a second after the audio is heard out the amplifier. Based on my searches it seems everyone in the world has the problem but I couldn't find a solution.

I believe AC3Filter has a delay feature but this won't work for AAC+ channels.

I use Reclock and hoped it had a delay option but it doesn't. Do you or anyone else know of a software solution. It's driving us crazy.

On further investigation I see that the MediaPortal Audio Renderer has an AudioDelay feature. Was this released standard in MP 1.2?

I selected it in the MP Config. There doesn't appear to be any visual configuration yet. The forum says to edit registry entries under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Team MediaPortal\Audio Renderer but there isn't a Team MediaPortal key in this location. Do I need to create one?

    Cheers.

    Hi rlevis

You may have worked this out by now but nevertheless...
No, the MP audio renderer is still in "beta" - it was not released with MP 1.2.x. Those registry entries may need to be created manually. Alternatively they may be created after a restart of the PC... not too sure as I haven't tried it yet.

Do you know if that means I still need to replace the dshowhelper.dll? I haven't done that since installing 1.2.1.

    thanks.

Nevermind, I have it working. I did have to switch ForceDirectSound as the defauilt WASAPI was producing some static noise. Although I was using this mode with ReClock with no issue.

    Cheers,
    Ross.

I.22 was released today. Have you tried it mm? Does radio still work correctly?

I was worried about this fix: TV-Server tries to tune a channel, even if it knows that it is unavailable. I seem to remember something like this being necessary for radio on Hauppage cards for FM radio.

    Cheers.

    Hi rlevis

No, I haven't tested as I've been very heavily involved in this release as I've been tied down with a broken computer, stuff at work, and also family matters. I've had a quick look at the code patch and it seems safe enough - confined to TV related code. Give it a shot and blame me if there is a problem. :p

Best wishes for Christmas and the new year!

I'll try upgrading in the next few days.

Regarding DiSEqC, I see support for Blackgold cards are planned for 1.3.0. MM, are you interested in doing this earlier in a beta. I can provide feedback, or does it require a programmer with the card?

All I want is for the voltege to change to switch polarisation.

    Cheers.

    Hi rlevis

I wrote that in the wiki several months back. I don't know if it will happen by 1.3 at this point since the team want to move to quicker, smaller releases. In any case, I have a couple of Pinnacle 7010ix cards which I can run with the Blackgold drivers. I've had confirmation that the code that I came up about a year ago also worked on a BGT3595 so I feel like it is really just a matter of getting the code done. This code is part of a much bigger "project" to refactor, update and improve our hardware support so that is the hold-up.

All I want is for the voltege to change to switch polarisation.
Normal tuning already works. That implies that polarisation (voltage) switching will work. DiSEqC is something entirely different...
