Hi, i currently have MediaPortal 1.2.0.0 installed and MP TV series v3.1.1.1864 and i cannot find any fan art, what could be the problem? I have written the tvdb id.
Add some new show you did not have yet, simply create a 'Text document' and rename it to "Blue Mountain State S01E01.avi" (taking a wild guess that you both do not have this show already).
Then re-open MP-TVSeries configuration (the new desktop shortcut created with latest version makes this easy) and go through the import wizard to add this show. It should all be detected automatic by default, so it will be an easy process of clicking through to the end.
Close config, use the Start menu shortcut to go to your 'User' folder for MediaPortal. Then open the 'log' folder and ZIP up *all* the log files you find there.
Before you attach that zip file to a reply on here, open MediaPortal GUI open and check to make sure you do not see poster, banner and fanart on that "Blue Mountain State" show.
its hard to tell from information above, but incase you are just referring to new shows, you may want to check, in MP-TVSeries Configuration tab, Online Data TAB, that
Automatically Download Series Fanart is ticked
and
Resolution is set to 720p or Both, if its set to 1920x1080, some of the new shows dont have 1080 fanart yet, so it doesnt get any Fanart. I had this on 4-5 shows as mine was set to 1920x1080.
Thanks for your suggestion RoChess, I've added the Blue Mountain file and it showed up on the basic home screen! Unfortunately, none of the other shows did...
Just to be sure, I've added the logs.
To see the other fanart, should I be looking towards "refreshing" fanarthandler or tv-series?
The fanart is fine in TV-series, just not in basic home.
What I did after testing the BMS show:
* Deleted every tv-series from the tv-series database in tv-series configuration
* Deleted BMS from disk (and database)
* Ran the import wizard and all series were added (except BMS ofcourse)
This still only showed the BMS fanart in basic home.
So I renamed the fanarthandler database, which then was rebuilt. Unfortunately, still only the BMS fanart shows up on the basic home screen!
After I tried some troubleshooting with Cul8er, we discovered there are only 3 files in the "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\Fan Art\fanart\original\" folder. These are the files from the BMS show I imported.
Cul8er asked me to go back to the TV-series forum and ask the following:
"How can fanart work in TVSeries plugin whilst there are no images in the "Thumbs\Fan Art\fanart\original\" folder?
I'll have a look at the "Thumbs\Fan Art\_cache\fanart\original" folder once I get home, to see if the fanart is there.
The only exception is if running XP then its in C:\Documents and Settings or if you override the thumbs directory for mediaportal (but im sure you would know that if you did).
the _cache folder is used for thumbnail storage when browsing fanart in Fanart Chooser window, it does not contain Full Size fanart (well atleast it shouldn't).
Can you browse around tvseries so fanart loads, in the log it will show the path to the fanart (if debug logging is enabled) e.g.
Code:
Fanart found and loaded for series 30 Rock, loading: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\Fan Art\fanart\original\79488-1.jpg
I made some updates to the Wiki page describing the <import> and <include> tags, including adding a couple of new xml examples. For the first example, I highlighted the example text and eventually found the location in the menus where I could select the CODE macro to have the example text formatted as a code example. So far, so good...

A little confusion for me here!
There are 2 x files in the folder......one is x86, and other is x64
Wondering if I should be selecting the x64.....since I'm installing the 64bit version?
UPDATE Transferred both files to the destination folder, and labelled appropriately. This way...

Thank you for this tip! I'm moving MP TV Server to a new machine. I installed the 64-bit version and most of the MP firewall rules were set to Public. I couldn't connect to the new TV Server from my old single-seat installation running 32-bit until I changed all MP-related firewall rules on the new machine to Private. Before I did...

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)
maybe other programs competing for resouces?
