Can't play WMV files anymore (1 Viewer)

I upgraded to 0.2.3.0 MP last week and now I cannot play wmv files anymore. I just get a blank screen. Worked fine before. Is there something different I need to do in the new release? DVD's, AVI and MKV files work fine.

Same here. And I'm having trouble with IMDB thumb toos. Both appeared at the same time. Not sure wich svn the problem started, but I'm using the latest and no IMDB thumbs are showing(they are downloaded to the cache dir) and no WMV would play. If I use WMP11 all my wmv's are ok.

Using 0,2.3.0 final with lates svn.

It seems to me that MP only recognize wmv's as audio files, because when I try to play them only audio is playing and MP is showing empty artwork and visual effects are just like when I try to play a music file.

Glad I am not the only one. I get the same, audio only.

I do get the IMDB thumbs. They are working fine for me.

This thumb problem is odd. It seems to me that MP is not able to connect the movie file with the downloaded cache. If i manually download a thumb, place it in the same folder as the moviefile and renames the thumb exactly as the file, MP displays them correctly! But not when I'm doing a IMDB lookup...

Hi,
I have the same problem. On two different Computers and MP installations. Fresh Win XP and MP 2.3
Below I pasted a snippet of the log file. There are no apparent errors/warnings. Outside MP, winamp, Media Player and Media Player Classic are all able to play the clip. Previous MP release played files well.

Any help will be appreciated!

if you try and play the WMV in Windows Media Player, do you get the same? If so, then it's a codec issue, if not, then it would be MP specific.

I must say that I upgraded and had no issues, so it's got to be something a bit peculiar to your set up.
Testing with WMP will be the best way to find out though.

For me there are noe problems wathcing wmv's in WMP11 or other players outside MP...
