Let me guess: you're coming from WMC and you expect guide data to just appear?

Unfortunately (or fortunately!) we're not Microsoft. Our organisation survives on donations from people like you... and there's not enough money coming in to pay for a guide data service. In other words: guide data won't just appear. You actively have to do something to acquire it.

actually I didn't expect anything, and yes you guessed right, all tho I don't see how that's relevant, I am impressed with your quick response tho, Im not a cheapskate either and will surly donate at least as much as I paid Microsoft for their media center, I did follow the links you left me and am trying to figure out what option to use to get program data. You have to understand Im an old guy (62) and not much of a techie either,when you get this old your eyes go and its hard to read long lists of instructions on a computer screen, so do you think I should give up now , it seems I already have one strike against me since Im coming from WMC

I am in my 62nd year and have also made the switch from WMC to win 10 and Media portal. I have been at it now for 5 - 6 weeks and am finally getting confident with mostly what I am doing and have a my system working well.

Dam, thanks I needed that, so I decided on Schedules Direct, got an account , got the plugin , did the configuration, you know , username password, so what do I do next, gonna help me with this?

I am in Australia so I cannot help you.

We have EPG as part of the digital broadcast, I would have thought it would be the same in the US so my recommendation would be to start with the broadcast EPG...

... I'm 62 toward the end of the year.... but I had this set up in my mid 50's.

With the 2 dll's for the plugin in th TV-Server plugins folder... go to TV-Server config and select plugins near the bottom of the list. The SD plugin should be listed there.

"Check" the plugin in the plugins list window. Then select the Schedules Direct plugin in the tree-view and the config for the plugin should magically appear in the right window.

As long as we don't know what type of reception he has, it's almost impossible to help. ATSC OTA or cable are two totally different setups even in Schedules Direct.
