The Clean-up button on Recorded TV just says it will delete everything 'This will delete recordings from harddisc' (not very good english). Is that really its purpose?

Did you follow it on to its next menu, which gives you 4 options on how to clean up your HDD.

You have to remember for a lot of Devs, English is not there main language so spelling errors happen, these get corrected when spotted, actually never been in that menu before, learnt something new :)

Thanks, but when I got that message I dared to go no further as it appeared that it would delete everything.

Supplementary: Having gone that step further does Delete watched recordings? delete those watched through to the end, or does it include any that I have watched in part and want to watch the rest later?

I would assume that even part watched files are "watched", personally as i said never been in this menu, maybe i'm a control freak and actually like to see what i am deleting :), so the chances are never will go there again.

I cannot understand why invalid recordings (removed in other ways) are shown at all. It would be much better if they were cleaned up automaticly so that you dont have to think that they are still there..

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1
