    hello all,
same error by me... I've tried to import a fresh install on a windows 7 x64 and continues crashing... I've 554 movies on my nas and trying to import the files (based on MP 1.1 RC1 and MovPic 1.0.4) I've the same result as in my x86 environment: it crashes importing movies. No special caracters on my films and "random" crashing movie. I tried to import 100 movies (moved to another directory) and works.
I think is a problem related to the volume of movies to collect...

(btw: in my x86 environment, upgrading from MovPic 0.75 to 1.0.4, the very first time seems to works fine, then (even when I try to open MP) it crashes).

    I have the same problem.

    Windows7 64bit, MovPic 1.0.4. MP 1.1RC.

    It crashes importing the movies.

Happy to help debug the issue, as I am keen to get this solved.

Reading back a few posts, people have reported that having ReadOnly ImportPaths are crashing. nick76/sounddude, do you have readonly shares?

Not that I am aware of. Infact pretty sure they are read/write.

However they are located on a SMB share rather than local disk. That does seem to be a common element between nick and my issues.

    Same problem here.

Moving Pictures causes MP to crash on startup, when moving pictures is disabled all works fine.

My movies are also located on a smb share

    winxp x86, moving pictures 0.75 and 1.04, media portal 1.1 RC1

nope... my shares are full permission...

btw... importing only a small part of movies (100 movies), everything is fine... so the permissions are OK... I think is related to the volume of movies...

My Configuration Window crashes too when i try to close the window.
and if i start any movie in mediaportal it crashes.
I have to start the taskmanager and kill the process "mediaportal"

If i import only about 5 movies there is no problem.
but i have in one folder about 100 movies and that seems to be too much for movingpictures.

    I'm on Windows 7 / Mediaportal RC1 / Movingpictures 1.0.4
and a complete new installation of the operation system + mp + mp doesnt help

    Any new ideas?
