if you install matroska splitter, mp can't play sub....the only way is to open ffdshow video decoder configuration, search the subtitle section and activate it.you have to select the font from ffdshow....i can't understand why mp support team doesn't fix this problem

Why are codecs and filters always causing so many problems?!?!?

    /Nyll

Because MS never bothered to document and really fix the direct show api, that is why. And of course because they suffer from the same old "dll" (or now "ax") hell.

It's still sad that no one can make a How to-guide… This is a great feature. In Meedio there were options for switching both audio and subtitle track from the OSD, this with my current setup, so it should be possible for it to work.

About enable and disable subtitles in MyVideos...

As mentioned before in this thread I'm using ffdshow to show the subtitles in MP. There is a remote feature in ffdshow that would allows the user to toogle subtitles on and off by pressing "S" on the keyboard or the "sub" button on the remote control.

The only problem is, that when pressing "S" or the "sub" button in MyVideo the only thing that is happening is, that I'm switching between different zoom modes.

Unfortunately I can't get it to work outside MP either when playing files in WMP. Anyone who knows how to fix this problem?

    Regards

    /Nyll

You have to go into the configuration and configure the sub button to turn on and off the subs. Unfortunately i havent been able to get it to work. It's kinda confusing (mapping a key to a remote). It's in the remote section.

Will it work with an assigned key if you can't change through the OSD?

The problem i've been having is that when i uncheck the show subtitles in the configuration nothing happens. The subtitles still show. Does this happen for you guys? If so then mapping a button to the remote probably wont do anything.

    Nyll:
How did you get the mp to show subtitles with ffdshow? Did you check the show subtitles in mp config?

I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.
