So you can use/try explanation from here : https://1f0.de/lav-splitter/lav-splitter-stream-selection/

in MP config click on screwdriver :

You wil get LAV Splitter setting :

    upload_2016-1-19_19-42-37.png

And there you can set language and use advanced mode too :

You need to check the second option :

By using Lav splitter stream setting, we really can do a very more advanced setting than MP.

So it works like this, when MP start a playback, MP will give setting from LAV splitter and set audio and subtitle accordingly, after that we can always switch between audio and subtitle manually from remote/keyboard or OSD context menu :)

Hmm, I'm confused what I should set the Audio setting for in the Source Splitter Properties. I watch movies that have Hindi/Urdu, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai (and other languages) and I would like them set as default, if I add English into the Audio setting then which will be heard primarily?

I like the Videos to be heard in their native languages as a priority over English dubbing.

No real clue. Need to follow explanation from Nevcairiel. I think you need to enter language in order of you want it by priority.

Ok, using the settings I used earlier in this thread where the subtitles came on by default, now those same settings and they aren't coming on.

I haven't played with LAV settings as I want to make sure the Config settings work properly first.

Should I upload any log files?

Yep for log and if you can explain what sub you want :)
If you set to use lav setting, then MP one are not handle, so it mean the culprit :)

    Ok :)

This time, you didn't set the default track when you have remux your movie :

    Code:
    [2016-01-22 09:10:59,479] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - VideoPlayer: FoundStreams: Type=Video; Name=V: h264 high L4.1, yuv420p, 1920x1040, 1962 kb/s, Filter=LAV Splitter Source, Id=0, PDWGroup=0, LCID=0
    [2016-01-22 09:10:59,481] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - VideoPlayer: FoundStreams: Type=Audio; Name=A: English [eng] (aac lc, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 379 kb/s), Filter=LAV Splitter Source, Id=1, PDWGroup=1, LCID=1033
    [2016-01-22 09:10:59,481] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - VideoPlayer: FoundStreams: Type=Audio; Name=A: English [eng] (aac lc, 48000 Hz, stereo, 124 kb/s), Filter=LAV Splitter Source, Id=2, PDWGroup=1, LCID=1033
    [2016-01-22 09:10:59,483] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - VideoPlayerVMR7: Subtitle CultureInfo en
    [2016-01-22 09:10:59,485] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - VideoPlayerVMR7: AudioLanguage CultureInfo en
    [2016-01-22 09:10:59,515] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - VideoPlayer:Duration:6350.42

So like there is no default track set, MP will not select it, you need to manually change the track from remote / keyboard etc. :)

No, my query isn't about the audio this time, it's about the subtitles.

Even though I have my subtitles set to "english" and to "preferred language", it didn't come on?
